I came here to watch a few minutes of L2 switching and watched the whole thing. Great vid and love your enthusiasm, really helps convey your knowledge. Subbed.
Ответить@Keith this is a very good class thanks for putting out vids
ОтветитьHi Keith! I have a question. Hub (or dumb hub) isn't secure because it sends data to all devices connected to its ports, whereas Switch is more secure because it only sends to the destined device connected to a particular port. But, when a Switch first starts, it learns by broadcasting the data to all ports hoping that the destined device is there (ARP process), doesn't that mean it's also not secure?
ОтветитьAbsolutely love your teaching style. I learnt so much in such a short period of time.
Ответитьwow, I watched it 2 times, it is very interesting. thank you
ОтветитьHi Keith! Just a note of thanks for making GREAT videos and helping others in our craft truly understand the concepts of networking. I've been in the field for almost 20 years and sometimes, like many of us, get so caught up in over complicated concepts & tasks, we tend to forget the very foundations of networking. It's always a help to me to come back to your videos time and again, to circle back to the basics before heading down a dark path of complexity that most likely isn't needed. Many thanks brother, please stay well!!
ОтветитьMan, Keith Barker is such a gem. I'm only upset that I did not find his videos sooner in life. Such great stuff and I'm so happy these videos exist.
ОтветитьThank you !!
ОтветитьNever thought that Tony Hawk is not only greate skater, but also a great IT guy
Really nice explanation))
Did you play video games in 1980s 🤔
ОтветитьThis is the best, most relatable explanation of this stuff I've seen, without going into super abstract stuff and showing actual hardware examples in the real world.
ОтветитьThis is still relevant. Nice!
Ответитьexcellent explanation Sir !!!
ОтветитьI cried when you said, "if this is your first pass through networking, I'm happy you're here and I'm happy to be part of you journey". Thanks to you ❤️!
My understanding of layer 2 before the video,🤦🤷.
My understanding after the video💡🤓
Your are the best, congratulations friend!
ОтветитьHi Keith, i appreciate your way of transferring the knowledge to us. can you please read my example below to answer my question?
i am sending ping request from PC 1 to PC 2, the switch does not have MAC address of PC 2. switch will use ARP protocol to identify the MAC address of PC 2. to my knowledge switch deal with frame which is L2 and does not contain IP field. so how the switch going to map the IP of the requested PC with its MAC? i hope i have delivered my question correctly.
Thanks in advance.
The best tutorial
ОтветитьWhat is written in the paper by the hanging toy sloth.😀
ОтветитьKeith, you are a gifted teacher. I just chanced by your channel and I am now hooked. Will be back to watch all of them.
ОтветитьHey Keith, could you please tell me which model of CISCO switches you are using here? And which switch is available in the market at the lowest price to practice switching?
ОтветитьDude, You Are An AMAZING Teacher!
ОтветитьNew to this and i just want to appreciate you Keith . This is going to change my life
ОтветитьThank you, thank you! Your videos are amazing, super helpful in grasping introductory concepts!
ОтветитьThe cups- just what I needed. Good work, watching on. thank you
ОтветитьGreat teacher more videos please
ОтветитьI love u man
great information
Thank you .. Thank you .. Thank you
Ответитьthe type of guy you need when working in a ccna environment , he needs to make lab videos and scenarios and show us how to do routing, he has dangerous knowledge that can't be held in.
ОтветитьThink of VLAN as a Partition. - Brilliant!
ОтветитьComing back, on July 9th, 2022, to rewatch these videos and attempt the CCNA again to break into IT and move towards security. This is the best resource I have come across (again, for me personally). Better than Network Chuck, better than David Bombal, better than Paul Browning, etc. I'm just thankful that this much content exists, because there are so many things here that are mentioned that I do not come across in the Wendell Odom book, and many concepts that I grasp, but don't easily put together with other concepts in my brain, are combined and explained easily here, and the switch flips.
ОтветитьL2 explained properly
ОтветитьI love your teaching...I would admit I am a bit confused on the labs because I have no experience in packet tracer so I guess it would help if anyone can point me on a direction where I can learn that to keep up with the labs
ОтветитьHey I love your's teaching style
Lots of Love from Nepal,Kathmandu(Asia)
Awesome to watch this right before my exam! Love the enthusiasm and how well you are explaining it. So helpful!
Ответить~50 mins I finally managed to mentally pull VLANs back to L2 in my mind. I've constantly associated VLANs with IPs and subnets. The broadcast domains logic has finally clicked. Thanks for your content, it's helped me greatly. :)
ОтветитьLove your teaching style
ОтветитьI'm on CCNA1 V7.02, I have a bit of attention deficit and I cannot tell you how much your videos have helped me, you make learning easy and enjoyable. I was having a hard time finding out what exactly a L2 switch VLAN is(most info available it's about L3 VLAN), ended up watching the whole video and learning a lot more than just that, you're a "no cape hero" my friend
ОтветитьHi Keith, what does ethernet really mean? Its is just a standard for wired LAN communications?
ОтветитьOnly trainer that makes learning any IT subject less tiresome as we all know things can get rather dry and boring, but Keith brings such energy and enthusiasm few nerdy dad jokes here and there to keep things interesting. Need more people like you in this IT training industry my friend and I think we would have a lot more qualified IT people out there, you are the best.
ОтветитьOkay. I am one of the fools who thought subnet and vlan are the same thing.
ОтветитьStudying for CISSP and came across this gem!! Also, where can I buy a chair like that ?
ОтветитьHi Keith. What I love about you is obviously your personality but, also because you are not afraid to go deep but also, you show us the details as it is working with so much proof. It eliminates a lot of mistakes and unnecessary modeling in the labs. I love it.
Ответитьthank you very much, i am in cours CCNA 2 in an institution and it is not good at all as they explain. the way you explain is very good and dynamic, thanks a lot im goin to watch as many videos as i can to win CCNA 200-301 blessing from Costa Rica .
Ответитьyour're an amazing teacher kept me engaged for the whole hour and this is very hard to do due to my adhd, thank you
ОтветитьThanks Keith. Loved it.
ОтветитьAdored the "here, let me prove it to you" segments. Please, keep doing as many of those as you can. Also, it would be a crime against humanity if you stopped teaching!
