It always fascinates me how a very small chip is the brain of the computer and can do many things

Man, it's just so crazy that humans figured this out. This is straight up witchcraft.

A few mind blowing facts: Today (2023) our microchips have about 25x more transistors than when this video was made. Intel thinks that they will be able to fit 1 trillion transistors on a chip by 2030. In 1970 microprocessors had around 1000-1500 transistors per chip.

Ummmmmm. I was blown away until it said actually the transistors are even smaller and then I had an existential crisis. And now I’ve just thought transistors are at 5nm size now…..what

Any smaller and we are talking atomic levels, aka quantum computation.

I can't even think on how humans came with the idea of making a chip and then how they were capable of building all the required infrastructure. Sometimes humans amaze me.

the person thinking it out, the machine and the chip are all amazingly insane. Think about this, now they have made CPU processors that have wires that are 2 nanometers wide. That's the size of our DNA. and it's in computers now.

Spare a thought for the process engineer who has to make the manufacturing process of the chip repeatable with ultra low levels of defects on the front and back end of the process.
