Thanks for the clear and concise explanation!
ОтветитьI have a propane furnace with only ONE wire with a switch. Which relay would I need for that to automate it ?
Ответитьgreat video on shelly relays. I'm wondering how difficult they are to fit in the box? I have gone down the smart switch path primarily with athom devices (come preflashed with tasmota) but I have noticed it can be extremely challenging to fit everything in the box. I see the same issue with these shelly relays. Any install videos to show how cramped it gets?
ОтветитьShelly 1L + bypass do a flickering light on OFF possition :( I replace it to Sonoff ZBMINI2L and works for all my light circut ! For NoNeutral the ZBMINI2L is a winner !
Ответитьhow do you remove the shield in case you need to access the back part of the switch. I bought some of these and I didn't install them as I saw no possible way of remove the shield without damaging the wall
ОтветитьHey Rob, could you provide some guidance on whether it's possible to control the Shelly Pro 4PM using either low-voltage (CAT3) wiring or Wi-Fi through a smart switch? If it's feasible, could you also recommend compatible smart switches? I'm looking to replace my old 40-year-old low-voltage light control system with multiple Shelly Pro units. Your insights would be really valuable. Thanks a bunch, Bob!
ОтветитьDidn't cover Detached mode?
ОтветитьWould one of these be appropriate to use as a gate relay to release an electronic strike for a small amount of time (like 8-10 seconds)?
Ответитьi cant seem to fine the 1l relay anywere in us market i have a older house they im trying to kinda retro mod into a smart home dose anyone now were i can find one or of a sub?
ОтветитьHi Rob i would like to know if i can use the Shelly 1 Plus Relay Switch without neutral?Thank you
ОтветитьCan it work for 12 volt
ОтветитьHey Rob. Maybe an update would be beneficial since Shelly has now some new products that are not included in your review.
ОтветитьThanks for this Rob. Just getting into home automation and ordered some shelly devices. Wondering if you know of any wall smart receptacle w/ USB that work locally and with HA? If I put in a regular receptical with USB, there isn't enough room to put in a shelly device into the box in the USA I have found. Could do z-wave or wifi. Ty.
ОтветитьGetting a Shelly1L with the Bypass seems almost pointless seeing you’ve got to access a neutral wire anyway. What would be a practical application where someone would use a 1L with a Bypass instead of just a 1PM?
ОтветитьIs there any Shelly device that is not geared to a load?
I have been looking for a specific device that has at least 1xDI and 1xDO
My specific application is a residential garage door I/O application
My input could have voltage on it as it's just a reed switch to sense the door is fully closed.
The output however needs to be a contact closure and not have any source power from the Shelly (or other) unit
I did have a Insteon IO-Link in there, but I'm in the process of replacing all of my Insteon equipment
I think the Shelly Plus 1 would do the trick, no?
Would be nice to have a second input as I think I may want to place a door fully open contact so I can improve the logic to open/close/travelling rather than just closed/not closed
I don't see that in a Shelly unit. May have to rig my own ESP32 blob up
Any insight would be awesome!
Thanks!
I'm using WiZ Portable Smart Button, no electrician required 💯
ОтветитьCan I use it with a LiFePO4 battery in my RV? Or will 14.4vdc kill the 12v side?
Ответитьwill the shelly 1pm handle a motor load of 1725 watts
ОтветитьHi, Great video Rob. You mention connecting both L terminals on the Shelly 1PM if you intend to max out the rating. Does this advice also pertain to the three L terminals on the ShellyPlus 1PM?
ОтветитьDoes any company make 20A relays? I have a FS20Z i want to replace with maybe WIFI.
ОтветитьWhat would be the best Shelly for a two way switch config?
ОтветитьI need shelly for philips hue bulbs instead philips hue wall switch module
ОтветитьHello! Could these be used to remotely control my big led floodlights in my garden? Ive bought 3 different wifi switches but they all "leak" a little bit so in off-mode the leds are glowing slightly. Will it be the same with these?
ОтветитьGreeting,
In my house there is Neutral, we have two live wire each wire is 110 volts, in this case how is the connection with Shelly 1 L. If I connect one wire the voltage will be 110 volt not 220 volt, please advise
Be careful using the 2.5 when you are using continuous loads ( e.g. a Pool Pump etc ). My 2.5 overheated constantly and cut off even though the pump was well within the 10amp limit ( was only pulling 730W ), and then totally died. Honestly, I'm disappointed with the 2.5. Hopefully the 4PM won't have the same issues.
ОтветитьCan any of these be used on 4 way switches?
ОтветитьThank you for all the information. I have a question. I have a 24v motorized ball valve. It is a 3 wire. Ground, close, and open. I would like to make it smart. Does the dry contact version have a no/nc option like a traditional relay or would I be better off connecting an actual relay to the Shelly and just use an on off function. The valve does not require power to be removed after it opens or closes. Can be operated by a simple toggle switch. Thanks!!
ОтветитьSo correct me if I'm nowhere near correct on this.
If you have an existing home with std depth switch boxes won't wiring that relay then overload the switch box?
Seems like everytime I see a wiring vlog it's just an example on the bench. Not showing me how to do this in an existing installation.
can I use those relays to control a 12/24 V AC deadlock gate lock?
Ответить@The Hook Up Good evening! Thank you for the great video! Could you please be so kind and help me - I have Shelly 1 and would like to "smart" my gates, but... I have the switch inside my house which operates my gates. It's difficult to explain but, this switch doesn't have L and N, there is just 1 wire in and another 1 wire out back to my gates. Is it posible to "smart".y gates? Do you use any email or What's app in order to send picture and explain with photo of my switch what I need? 🙈
ОтветитьI'm not sure how beginner this is. I 100% understand everything from the techy side of things but I have to admit I have never been able to wrap my head around volts watts and amps.
ОтветитьI'm not sure if I know the Amps, Voltages, Watts, Can I safely place the Shelly 1 for a LED ceiling light?
Ответитьi would never use these straight with load. only to control contactors. even these have small relays inside they are not the same as ie. siemens house automation relays. i have motion detector outside and it can handle 1kw but i still use it only to control relay and separate load. safe.
ОтветитьSo what you can do if the Home Assistant Shelly Integration returns an "Unsupported Firmware" error, and the device has the last firmware update installed (Shelly 1 Wifi Relay )! I just bought two to integrate with Home Assistant and it's a disappointment already...
Ответитьwhat a great video, and i think Shelly is developed with great flexability for end users. Now I have a old alarm system that I wanna use the PiR Sensors, since they have a output for resistive is there any Shelly that can check the state of the output of the PiR so i can program to send a notification? thanks in advance
ОтветитьThis presentation makes an incorrect suggestion!
Categorically, the lecturer does not understand automation.
Ahelly is a wonderful product. I won't explain why relay 1 doesn't need to have a Neutral.
We were able to launch Shelly in a private cloud over an SSL tunnel in NextCloud, from where hundreds of users can use it as an integrated service.
I have a Shelly 1L (No neutral) and want to control 2 lights; each light has an individual switch. How should I cable the Shelly 1L? I have 2 hot wire loads. According to the video, one hot wire load goes to O. What about the 2nd hot wire load? Where do you connect it? Any one would know. Thanks in advance
ОтветитьCan you use the Shelly with smart bulbs?
ОтветитьGreat video style and commentary but I didn't understand half of what you said and sadly I feel I need to be an electrician to get it.
Anything for dummies?
This is amazing. I had resigned myself to never updating our ceiling lights because my wife loves our vintage toggle style switches but now we both win!
ОтветитьI need to connect a relay output from my home PLC (logic controller) to Home Assistant. I am thinking of using a shelly1, activated by the switch input (from the PLC relay) to use as a 'flag' input into Home Assistant. any other ideas?
ОтветитьCould you please point me to the suggested device for a USA 3way configuration where the neutral wires are not used (jumped)? The 1+ does require Neutral, right?
ОтветитьGreat video! I learnt a lot from your video. I have a question for Shelly 2.5 wiring for 2 way wiring. I will have 1 normal switch (1 gang) and the other one will be 2-way switch. Do you have any diagram for this setup on how to connect? Thanks.
ОтветитьHi , I like the speed of the information (fast) , no small-talk , short video , just the important stuff , excellent presentation and circuit diagrams . For people who know a thing or two but need a clarification of the devices and features. Just what I needed. Perfect. Subscribed.
ОтветитьI have an outdoor light that I want to use a caseta or other smart switch to control, but also allow my speco nvr to control with it’s alarm relay. Maybe I can use a standard light switch and a shelly with the nvr relay? I cannot seem to figure this one out…thoughts?
ОтветитьThis may be a dumb question, but when you say it has a max load of 4.1 Amps, is that on the whole electric circuit (from the breaker to the end of the hot) or just from the switch to the light bulb?
Also, is the Shelly 1PM good for monitoring a dryer?
