1990 baby here and I would be so tuned into this show that growing up I would look for people with the same characteristics as the people on Family Matters. This show was my everything growing up. Today I have kids of my own and I pray that love this show like I did. Carl was the dad I wish I had and taught me so many lessons, that I carry with me to this day. My own dad passed before I was born.. So to see a man take care of his family, teach his kids lessons and be a great husband was very important for me to see. ❤

We went from Family Matters, Boy Meets World, and Saved By The Bell to “The Real Housewives of ___” and “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️. We’re evolving backwards lol

I believe Jaleel is at fault for the tension. He just seems like the kind if guy who is oaranoid and thinking everyone is against him, but really he just goes around acting rude to others because he thinks they against him. And how can I trust a guy who wanted to actually fight a woman? According to Urkel, the rest of the cast was the ptlroblem. I think Urkel made the show, but Jaleel was probabky the one with the problem. Sawry, Jaleel :(

I loved him and Uncle Phil both. So glad i had those great tv dads when i needed a good male influence. I would have never thought he wasnt a dad in eeal life ❤

Having a side-character become not only the star of the show - but also of pop culture at the time - had to be 'difficult'. It was insane how popular Urkel was. Dolls, toys, image on everything possible. And you could rarely go a day without hearing someone use the 'did I do that' line.

For those of us that didn't have a loving dad, this man meant alot. I remember crying almost every time he had a one on one, heart to heart talk with one of the kids. I soaked up every word I could. He was comforting.

Damn Wesley snipes is awesome for that.

Family Matters always was and still is the best show to me. Even as much as I love Fresh Prince, this show hit home for me way more for some reason. Those 2 shows are the best television for us kids growing up through the 90s. The world just felt like a different place at that time in human history. God bless us and have mercy on us.

Although Reginald had no kids of his own but he made a fun and terrific tv dad.

First things first, RIP Uncle Phil. But this was my 2nd favorite TV dad. lol

He started on the police force in Die Hard then got transferred to Family Matters.
