Quite simply the most awesome TV series ever made. Not the best, not the smartest, but the most awesome. Those incredible motherships. Those cool skyfighters. Michael Freaking Ironside. The birth of the Star Child. The heroic death of Robert Maxwell. The crivits. Mr. Chiang. Klaus's fake mask melted off when he's electrocuted! The ongoing feud between Diana and Lydia. That incredible, awesome, spine-tingling music by Dennis McCarthy. Jacob getting absorbed by his own force field. So many unforgettable, audacious, shocking moments. God, I love this show.

Fun fact: This series was banned in Finland after the episode where the mice were eaten. The ban wasn't lifted until 1998 when the original mini series was aired in it's entirety. It was marketed as a huge TV event and it got record audience

The first Season V The Series Intro was rather lame and I will tell you why. While the intro shows exciting scenes from the V The Final Battle and from the episodes from V The Series, the problem is with Jane Badler's appearance in the Intro. Although the scene depicts Jane Badler as Diana in the exciting and suspenceful scene, anyone who watched the episodes knows that is NOT Diana (Jane Badler) but a double Visitor trooper posing as Diana on a training mission. Later, in the scene (not shown), "Diana" (The trooper) is killed. When they did the intro, they should have accurately shown a scene with the "Real" Diana as opposed to the fake one.

Always had a crush on Diana

I was a kid when this series came out, my babysitter showed it to me and my brother. Though some of the special effects may not hold up by today's standards, I think it is still a good series, with an intriguing concept that was apparently inspired by Sinclair Lewis' It Can't happen here". It cost 13 million to make, which was pretty expensive for a TV series (the equivalent of 35,000,000 in today's money). There was a remake, but I haven't seen it.

is this the original mini series? i remember watching it as a 8 or 9 year old or somewhere around there. it was interesting. funny, been so long and now that i see the space ships in this and see how old the sfx are, i swear at the time it looked so amazing

This need a three part movie series

This was a great series as was the original mini-series that came before it. The remake in the 2000s had potential but it flopped.

Of course the original intro theme (from The Final Battle) was much better, but they had to make it shorter. This one is really cool but only during the first 30 seconds, then you hear the cheesyness of the 80's unmistakable sound.

I watched the two mini-series in the 1980s but not the series until 2009 (on Hulu).
