until batery pack manufacturer make reliable and fixable batery pack i don't think EV is the future of transportation, unless we all voluntarily to always in debt for the rest of our life just to replace our battery pack every 4 years and beyond, what a dumb way to get peoples off gasoline

If they can get car batteries up to 2,000 volts then charge speeds will be the same as filling up your car now with fuel. But at the moment most I've seen is only 800 volts :(

The problem with going over 800v is that the parts become more difficult to get. That is the reason most EVs are 400v. 400v parts were easily available before EVs were popular. Going to 1500v for cars will also be problematic because of the insulation and there is not sufficient benefit from the higher voltage.
Big mining trucks run on 3000v (the ones that use electric motors and a diesel generator)

This battery is all smoke and mirrors, fastest charge with perfect output conditions can achieve 12 minutes. With this type of system mass version for cars will never work as grid will always be restricted period

Then they probably have a problem in the EU.
In the EU normal electricians are allowed to work till 1000V AC and 1500V DC,
Somehow a 1500V DC battery can charge with a voltage of 1850V DC or so, so normal electricians are not allowed to work with this, let alone normal people.
I think they can better go for a 1200V DC battery.

It could be for long term platform stabilization to normalize continuous annual development of battery tech. High max also means steady (flat) rate medium rate, and bursts of very high speed .

Higher voltages allow for thinner cables to convey more power. The drawback is the challenge of maintaining proper isolation and security.

If we compare a Tesla with a 75kWh pack @ 400V, with a Porsche with 150kWh @ 800V, we could infer roughly two Tesla Packs in series, charged at twice the total power, but same power per pack, with the same set of cable cross sections but higher isolation requirements.

It might not be a battery cell or pack attribute, only a system integration property, with different tradeoffs.

The new Brisbane metro was launched in October. it's not a train, it's actually triple length dual articulated electric buses that run on demand. They can charge these at their depos but they also charge while they are en route. See below:
Fast charging
The Grid-eMotion™ system is a pantograph charger that can charge a bus in under six minutes. This system is fully automated and requires no driver input.

Less heat is the reason for the higher voltage. It's the same reason why powerlines are stepped up to such high voltages. As charging speeds increase it is entirely possible there will be even higher voltages in the future.

You should go back to elementary school, learn some simple matematics and aome basic electric.
1500V is 1500V does not mean a shir if it is a 500kWh battery or even a 100kWh that is charging with 100 amps.

You cant say "this car charges att 500kW" ianit a 50kWh, 100kWh or 500kWh battery? Makes a lot off difference, one is charging in 6min 0-100 one 12, and last one 60min...

Un following after 2 years of following you. Too hyperbolic and you just throw around the numbers... 👋

Mainly for CONSTRUCTION machinery. Excavators, Dump Trucks, etc . Such machinery would need such capacity and power due to the construction Work involved. Game changer as running and maintenance cost would be significantly CHEAPER and LESS DOWNTIME.

Existing 150kwh+ chargers are already a pain in the arse to use - heavy and short cables that people struggle to plug in. This is because these cables have to have cooling mechanisms. More heat, means more cooling and any ultra fast charging system would unusable. So assuming it happened at all it would have to be done some other way, e.g. something that mechanically comes up from the ground and connects to the car. So basically no use to any car in existence today and probably only has specialist uses even if it were to exist.

NO GAME CHANGER. - When German engineers were asked why they dont use a system voltage beyond 1000V they said it is not durable. You have a large chunk of electronics that was developed for trams with an designed input voltage up to 950 V or 1000 V. You can of course overdrive them and it will work, so for the megawatt charging system (MCS) they had a demonstrator running at 1250V. Surely you can work with suppliers to enhance production and testing but that takes time and money. It is nowhere near of actual production - and if the Chinese suddenly start to mass market it then it will fall under the usual category of "tofu dregg".

This battery and architecture will be used in the BYD HAN L, and we will hear about this car next two months. In fact, BYD batteries are constantly improving, and they didnot specifically promote this as the second version of the blade battery. In 2023, this battery and architecture were installed in the YANGWANG U9, which reached a top speed of 391 km/h in Germany.

The higher system voltage can help charge times by having less current going through the charging system, but it can only help so much, because it doesn't change the "C" rating of the cells.
