I had the most perfect dog - Calm, automatically obedient, loving and friendly with people and dogs alike. But, if someone left a chicken bone in the kitchen bin and he was left alone, he'd empty it, scattering the rubbish on the kitchen floor, in his search for it.
When we got back, his usual greeting was turned into a creep towards me, head down, body low, tail attempting to wag, before I had even seen how naughty he had been.
When I said "What have you done?", he'd lie on his back, submissively. Of course, it was always the bin in the kitchen.
I'm telling you now, every time he did that (which wasn't often, because the humans in the house usually remembered to put chicken bones in the outside bin) he always looked 'guilty' and yes, he always was - and not even the great Cesar Millan can persuade me otherwise.

When my little westie does something wrong she knows from the energy I project that I’m mad so all I do is open the back door and she runs out and stays out until I call her in giving me time to calm down

Not to disagree with the dog whisperer but when my dog gos through the trash while I'm gone before I walk in he will run and hide but if he doesn't go through the trash he will greet me at the door 😂 could be the breed

My sister kept her dog in the cage all the time. She was a high intelligent border collie and needed mental stimulation, so when she got out the cage she was pissed off. She ran away from home a year ago. 😭

I have been using your techniques and they work wonders. I can leave a plate of food on my bed and go away and my dog "Yorkie" will not touch it.

idk if dogs know something is "right" or "wrong"... but they know when they do something that upsets you.

My dog is very intelligent, and so this is why this makes me mad. She didn’t come the other day when she was called. She got punished for it, three days later is still holding a grudge against me for punishing her for not doing what she was told. Has anybody ever had that kind of problem?😢
