I'm not wrong. Look at black cats. And THEY are naturally occurring. Glowing cats that symbolize danger? Less than 50 years before they are all gone.

The biggest part of this problem is probably 2000+ years out, where humans might not be the only players involved, or humans have been set back massively to what we’d call prehistoric times after some catastrophe. The site also plans to contain a big above-ground information center temple-looking structure full of information that current humans understand, diagrams of the waste storage, etc., presented like frescoes.

Imagine someone seeing the skull and bones symbol and thinking there's treasure nearby and being serious about it. Just imagiine it...

While this may seem insensitive but does one really care if a human who can't understand a picture of a human harmed by the protected quantity is harmed? serious question. we exists as peers only so far as certain essentials are shared. A crow is as intelligent as a 7 year old child but we do not treat it as we would a child because we have nothing essential in common (the inalienable special moral category of both being human). If you are willing to create radioactive waste in the first place (presumably you believe you did so for the betterment of humankind) you should be willing, also to except the possible consequences of doing so (so long as these are for the benefit of the kind of humankind we have something in common with). Anyway, surrounding a building with barbed wire and pitfall traps is perhaps the best way to keep people out.

For those not in the know, piracy have been on the rise since 2010s when it was confirmed that the greatest treasure in the world is indeed real and still undiscovered. A man named Edward Newgate confirmed as much on his death bed, leading to the piracy boom. So yea, the Jolly Roger to this day is still a feared sight.

The idea of an atomic priesthood brought up is an idea that Isaac Asimov used in Foundation. Just another example of how Asimov was so far ahead of his time... Or Thomas Sebeok was a fan of Asimov. It is also not such a far-out idea since the beginning of the video showed that the longest-running ideas were religious in nature.

I think the underlying reason of the biohazard sign's success comes from the fact that it looks a creature with mandibles and pincers, threatening all around it. The aversion to insect bites is ingrained in the human psyche and will remain constant for the foreseeable future. I don't think it'll stop working before 10000 years.

I think each time a civilization forgets what the symbols mean, they will get of themselves sick and stay away for the next few centuries. It's an issue that fixes itself. We figured it out with poisonous plants and we will do it again with those symbols.

Honestly I think is because the biohazard symbol is all over Doctors offices and now has lost all effective sign/meaning...

As a kid, I always thought the hazard symbols were so cool and even had this phase where I would try to "collect them all" by drawing them owo
