I always wondered how the M777 fares against the Soviet 130mm M46 which was said to have a range of nearly 30 km and with an ROF of up to 6 rpm on average....

M777 in arctic conditions , digging into permafrost is like trying to dig into concrete to get the spades in. Also not a very fun job. Being a 13B is like being a kicker in the NFL

As a 13D (FDC Specialist) myself, I have humped HE rounds, kept the powder dry, pulled the firing string, and took a sip of the black water from the after-fire of the rounds (as a rite of passage). Needless to say, the Bravos welcomed me. Such a great experience on my part. :)

M777 is rubbish.

There is something wrong with that howitzer because, as you can see, the assistant gunner or the AG keeps pumping the priming handle.... Hydraulic pressure should be restored every time you fire the weapon. However there is something wrong with the system on this particular piece... It could also have something to do with the 1L charge They are using that is the smallest charge that can be fired out of this piece.

I did 6 years as a 13B And by far my favorite piece has always been the M777... I've been on the m119, the m109, and the m777 yup the 777 is my favorite

all I know about m777 is that it burns well

<20+ years as an Artilleryman. I am not against improvements or advances in technology, but the M777 is too slow to emplace and fire. The M198 was faster in all aspects and a better piece all around.
