I want to mod a professional broadcast vhs unit into an effects unit and sampler. Those things have so many options and controls that I’m thinking it wouldn’t be too hard.
ОтветитьSynthstrom deluge 😊
ОтветитьI think sound quality should always be included in the rating. For instance the only reason I never got an octatrack is that there is some thing poor in its audio.
ОтветитьIf I had to sell all my samplers and only keep one, itd be the MPC live 2
ОтветитьIt doesn't bother me to hear it pronounced diggy-takt. Not at all!
ОтветитьDid you never have a problem with the OP-Z regarding double trigs and bending? I’m just about to buy it but see many stories.
ОтветитьI'm new I'm hardware. Witch one of the samplers do you recomend for live performance?
I bought a minifreak and my idea is combine sampler, synth , guitar and vocals for live performance.
I had the mpc live 1 and 2 and it constantly crashed on me, I even couldn’t turn it on once then I had to send it back… also didn’t like the workflow in there, but in defense I have to say that im total daw guy and not really that deep into samplers for now!
ОтветитьHaving watched your videos for over a year now, I feel it’s time to praise the tone and flow of your vocal delivery — comforting and delightful for listening to.
ОтветитьDarn… I kinda wished you got to try the Smpltrek in this video… But maybe you could review one day (despite not needing anymore gear)!😆
ОтветитьI found it interesting that you cited environmental impact for your reason to not want batteries in the MPC One. I was thinking about the same thing earlier this year, about how wasteful it is for every single device to have it's own internal battery. I feel like it's best to have a powerful external battery that can be used across many devices, or making products that are powered by AA batteries or other standardized interchangeable batteries so that people can invest in rechargeable batteries that they can swap between devices as needed instead of every device having it's own internal battery and needing it's own special charger and power supply just because
ОтветитьI don't want to be too harsh but the new mpc's seem like actual scams. from what it looks like its just a daw and a box with some buttons. I get wanting a more integrated physical feel to your daw and all but when you're buying a $700-$1300+ dollar machine that litterally runs a free daw (mpc beats) and legit adds pads (which you could just get midi pads for) i think its a absolute scam. the new mpcs dont really innovate. they are just linux computers with midi pads and buttons. sorry not sorry.
ОтветитьSo, you're saying we should get a bunch of MPC One's controlled by midi by a bunch of digitakts, in turn controlled by 404s and so on, in the end having them feed cacophony into a PO-33 , out through a metalmaster pedal outputting via a transformer to a tattoo gun?
ОтветитьThey are all pieces of gearing enabling you to be musical and creative
Not better gear just different worklfow
even compared to other elektron boxes, octatrack is difficult to learn but its the absolute king of samplers in terms of raw capability. Its also way more than i needed so i sold it and got the sp-404 mkii.
ОтветитьITs not possible to export songs from the SP404Mk2 to a DAW?
ОтветитьOut of 404sx and the mpc one which one would you pick? My aim is to quickly jam out ideas before having to switch over to the daw to finish the song. Also I have a drum machine already that I use for the main beat, I'm just looking to extend that with other instruments.
Ответитьdont use a wooden table all the sounds have "kick"
Ответитьconsidering Toraiz SP16 instead
Ответитьdefinitely like. thanks for great job
ОтветитьYou can pan instruments in the Digitakt … I thought it was a mono sampler … ?
ОтветитьGreat vid, thanks Liam. 😎👍🏼🙏🏼
I like the staining on that table - what can you tell me about it?! 🙃🙏🏼😄
Octatrack is king & worth the learning curve. If your wanting to mangle and make original sounds that aren’t bland and boring.
ОтветитьYour jackery is a lithium ion battery with an inverter. Bad for environment and slave made. Sorry to troll. Like your video :)
ОтветитьThe digitakt’s 64mb per project limit is a deal breaker for me, I need more. Unfortunately the Octatrack seems to be only alternative that will allow me to replace what Ableton is doing (looping samples and using fx for a performance) but it’s like buying a Swiss Army knife when you need a tooth pick!
ОтветитьI love my Field, but the drumsampler needs an ADSR envelope and "lazy chop" function. Hope TE will implement this in a future upgrade!
Ответитьgreat video, after using push/push2 and ableton for years i wanted some external samplers, got a MPC one, hated the workflow, couldnt understand their language of what they called things, sold it after a week. got a digitakt, LOVED IT but since i play guitar and the live sampling on the digi isnt that great i bought a octatrack and a morningstar mc6, best guitar looper, haha albeit overpriced.
i make sample based music with guitar layers and like a lot of people budget is a big factor, the OP1 is almost $3000 here in australia and yeah the octatrack is about $2500 but you get SOOO much more.
i really want to give the sp404mk2 a run but not sure how i could fit it in with primarily playing guitar stuff.
again, fantastic video
Since this video was made, the 404 has since been updated to 3.0.
Plus, I would like to see where the 1010 Blackbox would stand.
Just came for samplers review and this was excellent....... subbed..... liked....... 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 now where are those other videos.... 😊
ОтветитьHow do you feel about Korg ESX?
ОтветитьYap 9,3 fits perfect. Finally someone who knows that it’s all about the player behind the Maschine and not mystic Japan converters.
Love the video
The octatrack is so misunderstood. At the end of the day, it's just a digitakt with a memory card slot and a crossfader that can be bound to anything. Digitakt lets you have 128 sounds per project, octatrack lets you have 256, half of which load the sound into ram for extra features. Octatrack also has 8 recording buffers that can be juggled in a limitless manner. While it's main strengths are in it's audio inputs and realtime mangling it's worth giving it a shot as a standalone sampler just for the crossfader alone!
ОтветитьCan you import a song and chop it to take only what you need from a song?
ОтветитьYup. MPC buggy has hell on external midi control. Terrible after 2.10. Sold it. My iPad running BM3 rock solid.
ОтветитьSo the newly added features made you downgrade the score? I understand why manufacturers hate guys like you. SP404.
ОтветитьOuch, those things are so expensive. I wish there was something small and portable and cheap enough for a total amateur to safely have fun at family parties, without fear that I might accidentally break a 500$ device.
ОтветитьFeel like most people don't understand how powerful the MPC One is. I have mine connected to a 4 track audio interface with a USB hub, sequencing and applying effects to all my external synths, making it the ultimate performance tool.
ОтветитьYour channel is so much fun and find these videos to be really fair and balanced.
I’d personally recommend the Digitakt for someone who has no sampler and is getting started. I own the Digitakt and OP-1 (OG), I’ve played on the MPC and have no experience with the 404.
- MPC: felt too close to DAW to me but a great pick
- Digitakt : learning curve, yes, but once you get through it it’s great and has 90% of the features you need. Works well with other kit you add to it and can record to the DAW easy. Just a lot of fun quickly too and sounds dank.
- 404: honestly this looks so cool so no hate at all. I haven’t used one but it looks like it has a learning curve that’s intimidating.
- OP-1: I really can’t recommend this for anyone but the most niche users. It looks so cool and is very powerful but man, if you’re new, it will only confuse you more. The effects don’t tell you what they are altering and the tape is cool but such hard to work. I find it so hard to integrate into other kit. You’ll get sucked in by the cool videos and that’s about it. It is super cool I’ll give it that but overpriced AF.
I've been using the sp 606 but in a couple years I'm going become a nomad lol I'm looking to streamline my whole studio into a van the MPC looks like a great choice to replace the SP. and my DAW
ОтветитьBEST TO WORST, now meaningless.
Ответитьmore chest hair please.
Ответитьwhich one is best for live looping?
ОтветитьMPC One has become my production and effects machine. Plus it can sequence external synths, allowing me to control and automate paratamters on external synths, and it has several different ways to jam or make songs. With ZERO latency. Everything I record or sample is dead on. And ... you're not making music on a pc, which is a big deal for me. Bottom line: you just can't beat the MPC for versatility, reliability and creativity. And oh yeah ... the VST synth plugins that come free are just incredible. From bass, lead or pad sounds ... it's all there. Thanks the for the review!
ОтветитьYOoOo you really hit us with "The Lick" on the OP-1 field haha.
ОтветитьThrow that part away if you want to make music professionally without
midi problems. You can forget about the new MPC updates.
Tip: 1010 black box!
