New subscriber here. Love your approach to travel; it very much aligns with our own. We're hoping to travel to Türkiye in the fall of 2024, so this video is very timely. Thanks for all the great information.
ОтветитьI enjoy the beaches when I’m in Istanbul, specially on the Asian side!
ОтветитьYou guys are spot on with the cost of travel. You are High IQ travelers, as we are. It's not that difficult to budget $2,000 a month USD if you are smart about it. We are currently living in Mexico. Our budget is around $2,000 a month. We don't splurge, but we don't skimp either. I've been to approximately 21 countries and know how to negotiate for most things. Your intelligence along with the dry humor is a great combination. I see your channel growing quite a bit in 2024!
ОтветитьTurkey is a beautiful part of the world and we loved it as well even though we did not experience it like you have with long stop overs. We ventured a bit more off the beaten track as we had our own transport so that made it easier... to a degree. It is definitely a unique part of the world. Being Australian of course a trip is not complete without visiting Canakkale and Anzac Cove before we headed across to Greece. We did tend to stay 2 or 3 nights in most places and people soon got to know/recognise us as they were not used to seeing Australians let alone ones on a large motorcycle coming into their little villages/towns. The people are absolutely beautiful and very welcoming. Finding female facilities in small towns ..... not so easy 😃
You are certainly giving us some great tips especially for places to spend our non Schengen time in.... It is a balancing act.
As always, such good information and so enjoyable watching you guys! Thanks Brian and Carrie! 😊
Ответитьhow many carpets did you buy?
ОтветитьThanks for the well done videos. You do a wonderful job providing a great balance of information and personal insight. Planning a trip to Turkey and these videos have been so helpful.
ОтветитьIstanbul is an interesting arabic city
ОтветитьGo Huskies 💜💛💜💛💜💛
Ответитьturkey and turkish people are amazing and wish to visit one day!
ОтветитьHi Carrie and Brian, Happy Holidays. Love your videos. Food for thought. It's been a year since your last video on packing. Maybe consider doing an update. Any new discoveries in the packing world. Anything you'd change from a year ago? What has worked or not worked since your last list of suggested merchandise? Thanks for braving the road for us wishful travelers.
ОтветитьAnother excellent video. Are you folks retired? How long do you plan to travel?
ОтветитьHi there! It is a pleasure to see you both so happy with this leg of your adventure! I ask you...can a solo woman travel safely to Turkey? I definitely want to go after watching your travel there and seeing/hearing your enthusiasm. I don't do escorted tours so I would be visiting, let's say Cappadocia and Antalya solo, with maybe a day tour here and there. Thank you and Merry Christmas!!
ОтветитьHidden gem restaurant. Mama Mia off Silom Road close to Furama Silom
ОтветитьAntalya I shall put on my list of places to vistit for late autumn. Were you able to swimm in the sea or was it already too cold in November?
ОтветитьYou two continue pumping out great content, easy to follow information and just overall good people. We can appreciate the time and effort that you are putting forth. We look forward to your 2024 travels. Enjoy your upcoming Holidays and continue living your best life! 😁 AGREE, put Turkey on your list!!! We loved our Turkey journey and will eventually find our way back there in the future.
ОтветитьAnother great video. The costs are an important video for us. We watched your last video while on holiday in Tirana, Albania. We'd never have gone if it wasn't for you guys!!. Question, why do you have separate companies for health ins? 🙂
ОтветитьI loved this video. Thank you. Everyone go back to 29 minutes in the water and mountains that are the backdrop for two thirsty are so beautiful.
Also a gentle reminder to put this in your cost of living playlist. Which is my fave; it was nice to see your budgets normalize after that fun but spendy phase in Germany/italy.
Thanks again and a peaceful Christmas and new year.
Loving your videos and great advice helping me plan to start my trip at the beginning of 2025 with no end date! Thanks so much for sharing so much info and helping me understand how to travel on a budget! Thanks!
ОтветитьAnother great video..... We head back south after Christmas... Back to Spokane for two weeks then picking up on the original journey... New Zealand and Australia.... Then Bali, Thailand, and Malaysia..... Hope you have good times in Washington... Safe travels.... Larry and Minnie...
Ps... Thanks to you we have Away luggage, surfshark, bar shampoo..and safety wing...😊😮🎉
Brian you ARE a lean, mean, fighting machine with a mean haircut!! Don’t change! You cost breakdown videos are always favourites for me because I can actually see that this way of travelling and seeing the world is possible. Thanks for keeping the details and putting it together. 69 days in Turkey sounds like a great way to spend your time, with memorable experiences. I don’t think I recall seeing the Indonesian food but need to check it out (my favourite Indonesian food was in Amsterdam). Safe travels and Merry Christmas to you both as you head back to Washington for some family time!! Cheers! 🎄🎅🏻🍻
ОтветитьWow what a great breakdown. And for 69 days a question I have is can you do a T-Mobile plan? I have T-Mobile in the states and I pay $50 per month can I just keep that when I start my travels Brian and Carrie?
ОтветитьAnother outstanding video perfectly blending both a glimpse of the beautiful locations and their pros and cons with your real life non vacationer budgets. These videos are extremely helpful to us as we are younger retired adults who also enjoy exploring. I hope you may consider the Azores islands sometime. One of our favorites
ОтветитьOhhhh this video was awesome, very informative! I REALLY want to visit Turkey for a full 3 months. Maybe Antalya (since I'm technically a digital nomad, I just hate the term lol). Can you link where you stayed there? I have to plan around my cat though. I am slow traveling with her and it's complicated as you can imagine ☺
ОтветитьTurkey is not in the Middle East ever since it is not a geographical term. Turkey is a Muslim majority country and that's the reason why you call it so
ОтветитьBrian, it was cool running into you on EPIC.
ОтветитьOMG, I want to go and be by the oceanside.
ОтветитьDOGGIES 🐶🏈🏈🏈🥃🥃🥃📢
ОтветитьWhen I visited Turkey I got the visa stamp in the airport on arrival, but that was awhile ago so it pays to check. I would love to go back and see more.
I had a hotel that was very close to the mosque and honestly I never heard that 5 am call to pray after the first morning.
I was in Amman Jordan which I also liked, but I was probably much further from any mosque since I don’t recall hearing any morning calls. I had a different girlfriend that didn’t like early mornings, so I didn’t get to see a lot of things on that trip that involved any travel time. It just means I have to go back myself, or find a more compatible travel partner. I was there near the beginning of the Syrian civil war which didn’t affect me aside from rents going up since Jordan is probably the most stable country in the region
Turkey is very expensive reason being very high Enflasyon and cost of living very high
ОтветитьGreat video Turkey is definitely on out list, we are currently in Argentina...Buenos Aires currently, beautiful city amazing value .If it's not on your list is should be. Cheers
ОтветитьI am glad you mentioned availability of the beer/wine culture in Turkey? A couple of summers ago I went to Egypt and Morocco and I found it really hard to get a cold one unless I was staying at a high end American hotel. Turkey seems more western oriented.
ОтветитьAnother wonderful video. Thanks to you both. Cheers!
ОтветитьHi guys, I am assuming you are back in the USA by now. Are you surprised about how expensive everything is? I think Turkey was a good choice for the Scenghen rule, and you both described it perfectly. Please enjoy the holidays, and I look forward to seeing your next videos.
ОтветитьSide is my favorite
ОтветитьThanks guys turkey is well and truly on our list and we’ve been hanging out for this cost of living video - seems Turkey is still reasonably priced for visitors to the country. Appreciate the effort that goes into your videos have a great Christmas 🤶
ОтветитьI actually use Brian's hair as a gauge for mine. We have the same hair. At what length does it look the best? Part on right side or left side? What is the best amount of salt?
ОтветитьThanks for the great video as always! If I had hair, I'd get the same hair cut Brian LOL . Anyway some people eh! So originally Carrie thought you two could wind up in Portugal long term, has Antalya Turkiye replaced this idea ? Dan&Marj, Calgary ,Ab, Canada.
ОтветитьGuys, I hope you'll agree with me that making videos about one's own environment could be at a minimum at least as interesting as making videos about foreign places. Nice trip to the States, and best for the Season!🖐
ОтветитьAnother great video guys, thank you 🙏
Can’t wait till we get to see Turkey for ourselves in August/September 2024….looks amazing!
Guess you’re off home for Christmas now so all the best and Merry Christmas to you both. Annette & Peter x
Great summary of Turkey!!! I agree about Istanbul. It's such a vibrant city and there's always something going on to check out. But, hopefully if I get back to Turkey, I can get to other areas of Turkey although I did also get to the Asian side. But, the next time around, I'd like to go to Antalya.
Happy holiday season!!!
Greetings from Los Angeles
"It's free, but we're still gonna include it in this price." LOLOLOLOLOL
ОтветитьGlad you enjoyed Turkey. It's a wonderful place I definitely will visit again. Thank you for mentioning registering with the US State Department STEP program (or whatever similar program in other countries). It's really important to do that. I was in Qatar when the war broke out and was thankful for the emails I received from the embassies in the countries I was in or was planning to visit. I agree with you about the call to prayer...pleasant to hear except when it's before sunrise! Enjoy your time back in the US. Look forward to your videos in 2024!
ОтветитьHello, Brian and Carrie! Can't believe it, but I've been languishing peacefully in Greece for more than two weeks!
checks his Schengen calculator app
I'll be here for another while, but MAN, Istanbul is looking good for for my next hop, and your info has been very helpful, as always.
👍👍👍
ОтветитьIt all looks just amazing! We're looking at leaving the states and settling in Antalya. The cost of living is incomparable to here in the PNW, especially real estate. One year and counting! Appreciate all your information!
ОтветитьYeah
Turkey is my retirement hotspot.
Damn, secret is out.
The whole med coast from Antalya to Bodrum is heaven.
Love you guys! I know you had plans to retire in a few years but decided to go instead😢. Can you please create a video trying to convince us to leave everything behind to travel the world? 😂😂 I just need a little push! Safe travels
