I've loved this track ever since I first heard it nearly 40 years ago. I can't help feeling however that it was not the finished article, and that he had more in mind for this track albeit a superb track as it stands. A lot of his later stuff which appeared after his untimely departure was unfinished. Such a sad sad loss for the world. RIP Jimi.

Jimi's music always takes me to a place of familiar uncharted territory. When I first discovered him over 30 years ago, even though I was introduced to all this fresh music, it felt like I've been there before. There are other players who came along after and introduced greater guitar wizardry(EVH) or took the Blues into overdrive (SRV) but as far as songwriting goes, Jimi still remains the best when it comes to transporting me to a special place only his sound can carry me to. That goes for not only his playing but also his voice. When you combine the two, it's magical and one of the reasons why I always prefer his versions of the songs over anyone that tries to cover his stuff, no matter how good the playing is.

I just love everybody else's comments. Everything I ever wanted to say about Hendricks has already been said by you guys❤😅

I was 21 when Jim, Jimi, and Janice were taken, each one in their own way were responsible for monumental change and still in the hearts of the lucky ones who lived thru that time with them..

I say this as somebody whose brother died the same way and he was only 21. It’s infuriating. I’m still mad at him and it’s 52 yrs later. It’s an act of selfishness. First heard this when I was 17, now I'm 71. Somehow we knew that Hendrix was of his time, way, ahead of his time and always for all time. Maybe the greatest of all time.
