Very nice video and trip! I think the cost is very reasonable considering you weren’t trying to do budget travel. In comparison I spent 20k for 2 for 2 weeks only in Italy, but we did have to pay for flights from USA. I think we spent more on food, drinks and entertainment. My husband requires a full breakfast each day.

If you’re on a smaller budget VRBO/AirBnBs can save you a lot of money. I spent 12 nights traveling northern Italy and spent less than $1,000. Also traveled in November which is offseason but still gorgeous. Also you can book less luxurious hotels…when I travel I spend very little time in my hotel room, and just need a clean basic room. There is a more budget friendly way to do everything. I do however recommend the Delta American Express credit card. You can get some great benefits. I recommend getting it a year in advance of your trip so you could rack up points and etc. to bring down your flight cost.

My fiancé and I are planning our 3 month honeymoon in Europe and I just have to say that I found this video so refreshing. Parts of me were very discouraged by seeing people say they only spent $5,000 on a 3 month trip (which is great for them!) but not super realistic for us and our travel style. Thank you for your transparency!

For another budget perspective, I just spent 6 weeks in Europe (7 countries 14 cities) for $5100. Traveling Europe can be done super affordably!! So please don’t think you need to save $25k before you can do a trip like this.

The EU is currently smacking the train systems around to make it easier to book trains to go between several countries or they will fix it for them.

Going say from Madrid to Amsterdam wouldn't be a single train, instead it would be several companies, no good way to see the connections, etc. and the EU is kind of getting sick of that.

Great video! That’s definitely a trip of a lifetime:)
This summer I also went abroad, and spent 3 months in Europe with a travel partner and collectively spent $14,000. For those who want to travel at a cheaper budget, it is extremely doable to average out 3k per month per person.

I did 76 days in Europe over the summer on a fairly inefficient itinerary - Netherlands, Finland, Portugal, Spain, Croatia and Belgium. I Was fortunate enough to have been hosted in several cities by good friends. Total spend came out to around 12,000 usd. Festival tickets and hotels were the biggest expenses. 😅
