easily the most underrated FF game. This has recently become my favorite game. Beautifully simple, but also complex game. Incredible battle system that rewards you the more you grind and play.

hopefully se readd the bonus dungeon on the pixel remaster.

Why does nobody ever talk about the DS versions? I'm sure at least FF3 FF4 FF5 were on the ds

they should have made pixel remaster at least look as good as steam version(mobile)

I would love to have a 3D Remake of this game, because gameplaywise its really really good. Exploring the 3 worlds in 3D would be so cool

tl;dr play the steam version with mods to improve the visuals and ui. Play pixel remaster if you don't want to mod and don't mind less content.

I think what we REAlly need is HD 2d remasters, with all sprites actually recreated in high resolution/looking great. Not just, same 1992 graphics pixel remaster. I don't see as much point to that

I think I'm in the minority that the Android/Steam old version is a big enough graphical update over both the original and the pixel remaster that it is the most appealing and hard to choose to play pixel remaster over it. The old sprites just look small/dated in pixel remaster. They were great for their time over 30 years ago. The way they did the PSP versions of 1, 2, 4 would be even better

I didn’t hear you mention how the Sealed Temple and the new jobs are absent in the Pixel Remaster.

I still prefer the SNES score for FF 4, 5, and 6.

Just beat the pixel remaster a couple weeks ago. Since i dont have time to play with all the jobs. I was stoked when i got the Mime job. Made NeoExdeath a joke. :)

I decided to go with the GBA Script Port rom patch for the original SFC version. It fully translates the entire game, includes most of the major bug fixes and I also added a patch to add dash like the PSX version. I'm using it on my SNES Classic to play it. Almost went with the GBA version, but this is a better experience. The Pixel Remaster just feels "off" to me for some reason.. might be the font or something.

I wish the pixel remaster versions had the bonus content, and in the case of FF6, the bugs, of the gba versions.

It bothers me that Ff 5 and 6 never got 3D remakes like ff 3, 4 and after years, seems like a missed oportunity to me.

I'm playing through this game on my phone and I gotta say, it's such an underrated FF game. The job system is so fun to play around with.

I love the visual style and resolution upgrades for the FF5 and 6 steam ports. Anyone who hates them has a broken brain.

This is probably the laziest of the 6 PR's. The Sprites weren't updated at all... Yang in FF4PR was given his Mustache, but they couldn't be bothered to change Galufs hair on either the World Map or in battle? Lazy port...

I play the GBA version with a music restoration patch on a new 3ds xl xD

Happened on this video while I was actually playing FFV for GBA. I feel like I picked the right one for what I wanted.

I never played FF5 - loved 4,6,7,8,9,10 but never gave 5 a good go. Maybe that can be something I get crossed off my list

There’s been concept artwork for the battle sprites of the classes. If a high-res remaster were to make the battle sprites look like that concept artwork, then a 4K remaster would be viable. The thing is that the previous version had blurry sprites.

Long story short: Get the Gameboy Advance version for the best overall experience.

FF5 was amazing, never thought i would get this much satisfaction out of a pixel game.

PS: 9/10 graphics, 7/10 music.
Gameboy: 9/10 graphics, 6/10 music.
Mobile: -2/10 graphics, ??/10 music.
Pixel remaster: 9/10 graphics, -11/10 music.

I really wish they just released it with the original graphics and music.

Those changes in the audio is so little that it's low key gatekeeper vibes......if it was a DRASTIC change I'd get the criticism but cmon

The older FFV Steam Version doesn't have Controller support.

Anybody else notice that it's usually easy to update graphics but not sound?
Somehow the original almost always sounds better than the update, even if the update has better technology, it usually lacks a certain, je ne sais quoi.

Sounds like it's a close race between the Steam and PR versions for me. Having a really hard time deciding, as while the extra content of the Steam version sounds good, the PR version has great music and a more polished gameplay.

Honestly saying... The Final Fantasy we should play should be the Final Fantasies that had extra content on GBA or the versions that were released in 2015 but unfortunately they deleted from steam.
