i'm so hungry for a good co-op pirate game. but more like sea of thieves with power progression not like this. back to safer seas i guess. le'sigh.

Being a huge fan of black flag since it released, I would feel a massive feeling of claustrophobia not being able to just stop sailing and moving my character in or out the ship anytime I wanted

I like the game and so does my friend. I guess it is all up to the person that plays it. It's been a decade with GTA 5 and they are still working on the game.

Everything could be forgiven if they just let YOU plunder, let me run into action with cannons firing around me with ground based combat in addition to sea combat. Literally every other problem would be stomacheable but the cutscene plunder was disgraceful

So I know this is about Skull and Bone, but I just wanted to say that the issue with max speed boat chasing max speed boat was addressed in Sea of Thieves. At least for a specific voyage that you're encouraged to chase down and fight over the treasure. If you have the Siren Skull treasure on your ship, the ship is cursed to be slower, allowing any ship the potential to catch up with you and forcing you into naval battles you'd otherwise be able to run from.

Why do the ships just explode? like wtf did they get ammo racked?

Only it wasn't a mess. It's a great game, a bit slow on feature releases but they'll get it adjusted. It's beyond me how so called gamers can't see the obvious plan of not just the game but in future expansions.
Go on and play your crap titles that are old and worn. Don't cheat folks out of trying it themselves. It has a free demo that every person I've challenged to try has turned right around and purchased and still play the game today

Nintendo focuses on the game instead of making a game look pretty with useless pixels. That's why I'm still playing Breath of the Wild 7 years later

The max speed thing can be an issue but that's why you target their sails and equip Skurloch's chasers, a cannon that strips their sails faster and does more damage to them.

Ff14 has the best live service design possible, the time sinks are there, but you can ignore all of them for the story if you want

Skull and Bones seems like a game where everyone was working on their own individual contribution without knowing how it fits in with the game. You can tell that there is significant effort put in, but it doesn't seem like they worked together or even communicated with each other

@LukeStephensTV First off, the game has ZERO sailing mechanics.... Valheim has better sailing mechanics. I saw the first footage of this game and laughed. This is not an age of sail piracy game, it is a big fat joke of a iPhone game. I haven't played it but just looking at the footage you provided, it seems excessively silly. Half the fun would be using the wind, tides and currents to out manuver your opponent to board them and take their stuff.... like a pirate and then sell them to a "fence" for shady corporation that is supporting the various colonies you are pirating... I am surprised they kept pushing this crap out the butthole... but it is Ubisoft...

Helldiver 2 built for gamers, skull and bones build for their investor with the goal to squeeze every penny from their customer, and it looks and feels like mobile games with timegate and road block. thats why recent games i had fun with none of them from big corpo

since the begining I thought it was suposed to be Assassin's creed Iv style... then it changed... sad, they should have stuck to the Black Flag style i loved that in the game, but then I played the test time, and there was no land combat at all and played like 6 hours and i was still unable to get the big ship to big combat... so exploring land feeled so untreatening it dissapointed me.

Beware any game where its players say "it gets really good at end-game!" That usually means there's going to be a lot of chaff getting up to that point.

If not for the beta I was going to get the deluxe edition blindly. Played the beta for 2 hours and ended up not even buying it. It's not terrible it's just not worth the price of a full game. I'll revisit it when its 40 or less in a couple years

OK, the player with the scout ship delivering the stuff is the fastest, but even if, isin´t their the chance to slow him down by shooting his mast down? Just a thought.

You're a multi-billion dollar company.
You look at Black Flag's success.
You hear all of their fans say, "Give us this, but with updated graphics/FPS, replacing the assassin stuff with only pirate stuff, and having even more/bigger open-world detail/exploration, monsters/creatures, campaign/story/lore, etc."
You begin development with lots of excitement.
You spend 11 years and 200 million dollars working on it.
You release the equivalent of a scam mobile game with a cool cinematic trailer that ends up just being a mindless empty unfinished grind city-building game, endless puzzle game, etc. for toddlers that, outside of the lighting and some graphics, ship parts, and weapon mechanics, somehow plays and looks worse than anything from their game back in 2013, especially the walking movement, that was too lazy to even do any ship boarding and resource farming gameplay that even 2000s games did.
Bravo, Ubisoft.

Ubisoft had absolute gold with the idea for this game being Black Flag gameplay, but without assassin's creed stuff. Like, I would pay alot for black flag gameplay where you create your character, have optional multiplayer, swordfights and ship battles. That sounds amazing, tbh. But, I am not surprised that they fucked this up, unfortunately.

Sid Meier’s Pirates is still a better play

Don't worry guys give Ubisoft 2 years and 300gb patches and 10 payable DLC season passes and the game will be much better 👍
