Do doctors and the medical community take this seriously? From where I sit, it has the appearance of being fringe.

Any of you super sensitive to sudden noises too? Especially that of the phone ringing which is the most annoying? Why does psychology have no term for this? And how do normal people filter out sudden noises and interruptions but I can't? Is there any medicine that can reduce our sensitivities?

My daughter is like this, I don't believe you are born this way, I believe it is vaccine damage. The most common vaccine damage is to the central nervous system. Most people have no idea the damages these childhood vaccines do and the heavy metals and other poisons that are in them.

I have it.

It's been an incredible gift, and a horrible deficit, all my life.

Some people would pick up on it and manipulate me for their own pleasure, somehow, I became a form of amusement, an emotional punching bag. It took a while, but I have identified all as narcissists.

I'm old now. Most of my tormentors are dead. One is not. He was important in my mid 20's for encouraging me to play music. Because of me being a HSP, I not only excelled, I advanced quickly, but I could play with deep passion, soul, effortlessly. I surpassed this individual in every apsect of being a musician, and an entertainer. My abilty to read my audience spontaneously was my gift as well. I honor this individual, but he goes out of his way to trigger me, is downright nasty. In essence, he is dead to me. I avoid him.

Now an elder, I reflect often. Certain people were true assets to me learning that I had talents, way beyond music. Every job that I enjoyed, became good at, was destroyed by. Narcissistic managers, higher ups, who like the above mentor, saw me as a threat, eliminated me. I got fired, a lot.

As a result these people have installed within me a rage.... it's constantly burning.

As a child I was punished severely for getting angry. My family is gone now. I'm an orphan.... I do not grieve for any of them. I was the black sheep, lied to, manipulated, ignored, not made privy to family information. I could go on and on with this.

I am experiencing anhedonia. My music, the need to play, express myself, is gone, like I never learned it, let alone mastered it.

I'm so depressssed now, it's painful. If it weren't for my cats, my partner, the plethora of projects to finish, I would've done myself in. I want the magic of my music back, my zest for life.

Sleep issues, vertigo, haunt me as well. I'm so lost, frustrated.

It’s great to have the scientific evidence behind being HSP as well as for me given I am an empath on top of it. Growing up, people just kept saying I was too thin skinned, and taking things too personally. Talk about a covert method of gaslighting. So grateful that at least I understand what’s happening to me even if others don’t.

I've been told, "You're too sensitive' or 'You're too trusting' or 'You're too emotional' even 'You're a marshmallow'...I guess I'm just too "Human"... so why do I always ask the very rhetorical question, "WTF am I doing here. I feel out of place, like I don't belong on this planet. I feel most comfortable with nature, animals and I love living alone. Which btw I am unable to do at this time. It's very frustrating to share a space with someone who's kind of, well, cynical is the best and kindest thing I can say in one word. Actually, this person is an enigma to me, all over the place.

If you're going to make videos about/for sensitive people, then for goodness sake use human voices and not robotic voices. I'm grateful to go-nv7pd below for their synopsis, because otherwise I would have just left a rude message here and clicked off the video!

Brought up in a completely negative household, and believing, and being told, I was the trash ( still the rock on my shoulder) I've always 'searched' for answers since everyone I ever reached out to told me there was nothing wrong with me. After addictions, ( now just self-medicated) suicide attempts, trashing my body for free, I found an article about "Episodic Depression." It explained that certain "episodes" in my life caused my RNA (?) to physically change and result in chemical depression. Apparently studies of slivers of RNA taken from the brains of successful suicide victims showed an actual change to their RNA. Does anyone know if 'this " Episodic Depression" is also involved with HSP?

Why is it to have these types of abilities to be the OUTCASTS. ? Treated as if defective, damaged goods. I am Dyslexic. and it had been HELL for me . Little was known about it in the 50's and on .2023 there still is little known, and TEACHERS CAN BE SO VERY CREWL in school. It is hard enough to be living in a home to be called names even by your own mother, but then have to go to school and get it from other kids and the teacher. Highly sensitive to enjoy the smell of the first snowfall, or mowed grass in spring, or to enjoy the waves, sensitive, yes when you are considered DUMB, Crazy, is horrible to live with. Never getting very far in society due to being POOR, finding a place in work field and then when you do find an area YOU ARE NOT THE RIGHT SKIN COLOR, which started in the 70's for going to a better school, NO, had to be NON WHITE.

I don’t understand why people are hiding behind ‘sensitivity’ here, sensitivity is about tactile feelings, not subjective feelings based off of belief systems fractured by trauma…the 5 senses in HEIGHTENED states vs. overthinking things must be broken down more than a victimized standpoint, I’ve been through hell, but I’m not going to cry any more than that because I consciously choose NOT to ignore that I ignore.

It would frustrate my exes that I could not watch overly violent, or any type of horror movie—that if things make me jump or if people, or especially animals or children are hurt, I absolutely can’t stand it, and will get really overwrought or even sick. It’s just how I am—a highly sensitive person and I refuse to apologize for it anymore.

All the focus is on the HSP introvert ..they want to leave parties, etc. What about the HSP with c-ptsd from abandonment over and over, and longing for relationship, that is NOT on a SCREEN! Please speak to how hard this is when humanity is turning into ROBOTS! Screens are not sufficient for human relations.
