I hope any teacher / professor isn’t watching this. But tbh, even if they are, they should be on the same page as us. At Xpert, we believe that formal education can only teach you like 10% of your actual work. All of us think that most of what we learnt in college is irrelevant in reality, at our actual workplace, or life in general. Formal education for us was good only at giving us a broader vision of the possibilities in the subject, introducing us to various processes and techniques in a theoretical way. The teachers too, were xperts on their subjects from a theoretical point of view. More often than not, they had little or no real life experience in the subject that they taught us. While students use formal education to constantly evaluate their career choices, they end up with only a theoretical introduction to the subject. What they actually need is a snippet of real life application of what they’re studying.

Be it by accounts of real life experiences, real stories of the struggle that was faced or useful tips and skill sharing that might actually come to use. Learning from the people who actually went through a journey that you actually want to emulate will give you a unique insight into the minds of actual legends in your industry.

The internet is filled with interviews accounting the lives, tips and opinions of Industry specific Xperts. You’ll get to see what you need to be doing to get where they are. They give you an actual slice of reality as a member of that industry.
They even inspire you to do better by talking about the perils of their own life. Formal education is not enough. You’ve got to get closer to the industry by listening to and learning from the stalwarts. That’s exactly the purpose we have built Xpert around. To learn from the people you actually look up to.
