Thank you for this great upload. My special thanks go to a cab driver in New York. Phil Collins told this story about the creation of this musical milestone. Phil was sitting in a cab in New York in the summer of 1982 and the cab driver played the song "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five loudly. In this song there is always a repeated "ah huh-huh-huh". According to Phil, he has had the "ah huh-huh-huh" in his head ever since. When he wrote Mama, he integrated this "ah huh huh huh" in his typical way.
That was the ultra-short version I remember of the birth of "Mama".
This cab driver should be memorialized. If it hadn't been for him, "Mama" would probably never have existed in this form.
Of course, my thanks also go to Edward G. Fletcher, Melle Mel Clifton "Jiggs" Chase and Sylvia Robinson for the song „The Message“.
The latter is known from "The Sugarhill Gang" who actually brought hip hop and breakdancing to the people with their anthem "Rapper's Delight" in 1979.
