Thanks for going over your settings. DoF is something that totally eludes me. You have helped me understand I need to better understand DoF. Again thank you and great images.
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьI know this was a year ago, but I wanted to say I hope your surgery was successful. My son suffers from nerve pain in his back and I see just how difficult it is. Thank you for sharing your morning.
Ответитьwould like to know your print ratio - it appears to be about 1 : 1.5 ? was this a setting in camera or post.
hope all went well with your operation.
All the way from Australia ! Loved the way you explain your technique …. What a beautiful place… keep up the fantastic work
ОтветитьSo informative. I’m not a digital camera user, but these are things any film or digital photographer can use. Thanks so much for your great vids. 🎉

ОтветитьGood luck to you in regards to you’re surgery. Get better!!!
ОтветитьGreat video again. "f/9 is the best part of the lens", you say, but that only applies for old lenses. Practically all the Nikon Z lenses are 100% sharp from wide open aperture. So it is an old saying "to stop down to get better sharpness". Now we don't have to worry about that anymore :)
ОтветитьShould've focus stacked that last image
ОтветитьBrill 👍🏻

Hi Nigel, I hope your surgery went well. I enjoy your videos and I hope to see more in the future. I had a major back surgery about 4 years ago. I was able to work from home after a week. Hope your recovery goes as well as mine.
ОтветитьWell I hope your recovery is going splendidly..Great video once again. I am jealous of the locations and weather you get around you. Keep on healing..

ОтветитьHi Nigel good luck with back op, stay safe and well and speedy recovery, very best wishes!,
ОтветитьAll the best with the spine surgery. Hope it is successful! I really do wish you a speedy recovery!
ОтветитьOne thing I did notice that you do, and am wondering... taping focus and then having the camera take a shot, especially at slow shutter speeds.... do you leave IBIS turned on? I get in this habit (from my DSLR days) that I turn off any type of stabilization and use the self-timer (usually 2-5 seconds) to minimize shake. Do you find that using tap-focus-shooting impacts the sharpness at all, or do you leave IBIS on to counteract any movement from camera movement? (Currently I have tap auto focus turned off and usually just use the focus stick to position the focus point and the shutter to fire).
ОтветитьNigel, how do you like the 24-120? I've been considering replacing my 24-200 (selling/trading it) for a 24-120 but am curious is the constant aperture and potential increase in sharpness is worth giving up the VR and the extra 80mm? I mean in one sense, I'm also using a Z7 so in a pinch, if I had to, I could use crop mode and get roughly a 180mm f/6 equivalent so close to what the 24-200 would get around 200mm but at a lower resolution of course (as a result of crop mode) but I'm thinking the benefit may be worth doing the upgrade....
ОтветитьGet well soon Nigel!
ОтветитьGood luck with the operation and all the best for a speedy recovery
ОтветитьBest of luck with the surgery, Nigel! take as much time off as you need, the internet will be here when you get back
