GM loses money on all their EVs sold because their production is so low.😢
Ответитьlol car manufacturers are pulling a “Nvidia” these days….release model with reasonable msrp and let reviewers review said model, but in reality either those base are not actually in stock OR increase msrp afterwards upon when the model is actually in stock to be sold ….. Nvidia has been doing this on video cards for years now….
ОтветитьThis is the last ev i'd ever buy because it uses mylar lithium polymer pouch cells which love to turn into spicy balloons in under a decade of age. "but there's no problem with it now" yeah right now because no other auto manufacturer would use these if they cared for long term ownership and longevity. Tesla could have used pouch cells in their first model s to get more density and lower costs but refused because the last thing they wanted is a bad reputation in the long term because anyone who knows batteries knows this. These are not long term ev's just because of that battery type used. I would never own any ev that uses pouch cells.
ОтветитьThe infotainment is a hard deal breaker
ОтветитьIs this a joke? The model in the video is "a little" bit more than the $28k version? Let's see...$45K minus the the $7.5K credit equals $37.5K. $9.5K is "a little" bit more? Haha!
ОтветитьIn Chicago, this car sells for 43 k. These dealerships are nuts. Tesla is the way to go for EVs. No crazy mark ups
ОтветитьWhat is the claimed range exactly on the model 1LT? Too bad they only give you that ugly blue accent color inside in that dark interior seats.
ОтветитьCan you charge it overnight?
Park it in your garage?
Charge it above 80%?
How do we know GM has fixed the earlier Bolt battery problems? This is what those customers are asked not to do.
I did really like my 2014 Volt
I would be FAR happier if the power bias was 200/rear....100/front.....Or just 300 rear and leave the front suspension free to only steer..............Same cost to build....MUCH nicer car.........................'AND by the way FWD ONLY gives better snow traction when there is a heavy transaxel on the front end.............In this regard You are ignorant and far from a real connasuer of Automotive appliances.........Paul
ОтветитьPlease stop talking about some suppossed $7500 discount.........Those of Us on SS do not pay taxes and can NOT get this discount.............I can just buy a Forester or CRV and don't need to worry about some fake discount...............Paul
ОтветитьThanks, Great Video information
ОтветитьThey should've called it Solstice 😂
ОтветитьWhat's the electricity Cost to charge it up
ОтветитьAnd... once GM actually makes any base Equinox EVs. You can't buy 1, only 2 and 3 are available.
ОтветитьIs the battery Li-ion or LFP? For how long is the battery warranteed?
ОтветитьGM expects to sell 200,000-250,000 Ultium EVs in North America this year. So seems like they are planning to build a lot of them.
ОтветитьThe base price is no where close to that price
ОтветитьSo how does 42000 - 7500 = 28000???
ОтветитьNothing is available in any dealer lots for the price you have specified . Model Y long range rear wheel drive is $37500 after federal tax credit and no dealer markups .Plus this has very slow charge rate still. Access to superchargers are big deal . This vehicle is not affordable yet .
ОтветитьNo amber turn signals !!
ОтветитьI really hope that the 1LT version doesn't end up being elusive 'vaporware'. I'd argue that the majority of the Equinox EVs produced should be that trim.
ОтветитьWe'll see if the subscription strategy leads to better update support. So far in the tech world we've not really seen an alternative besides "buy the widget, we provide the service for free, but after, say, four years, there aren't any more firmware updates" -- let's say Garmin in the sports tech world, the car manufacturers, most value-priced smartphone makers -- or "subscribe but in return we keep updating the software" -- most software vendors at this point. And then you have Apple and Google in the middle trying to pursue a middle road of a bit of subscription and five to seven years of updates. I think the car makers are going to end up needing to use an approach more toward the software vendor approach and they're scared by it.....which is why GM brought Google in to help them.
ОтветитьIs front wheel drive better in snow even without the weight of the ICE engine over the drive wheels?
ОтветитьI wonder if Chevy will also sell the data it collects on drivers to, for example, the insurance industry.
ОтветитьNo Apple Carplay? No go for me
ОтветитьMy wife and I currently own a Tesla MY and love the vehicle. We need a second car that can be left in Denver at our condo and this vehicle would be perfect for the few miles that we would drive it 3 months out of the year. Great review.
ОтветитьOn range: about HOW MUCH LONGER will it take to "recover the next 200 miles" than the Hyundai/Kia? Ten more minutes? 50 more minutes? 100 more minutes? If that's "going to be a big deal to people shopping both", how big is that deal?
ОтветитьHmmm, on the Chevy website start price is $41000. How did you find $28k?
ОтветитьMy son's GMC Terrain has the full driving aid package on it and effectively is Super Cruise. You need to keep your hand on the wheel, but it basically drives for you on long highway trips. Absolutely recommended. But also now standard on many ICE vehicles as well - just marketed differently. IMO, GM should make it standard and not $2700 extra.
ОтветитьNo Apple CarPlay is a deal breaker for me
ОтветитьThe "solution" to fix those small issues is to buy the Honda version of the same thing. Yes, GM and Honda jointly built a version of this on the same assembly line called the Prologue. A few more thousand dollars for a better experience without blowing the bank on the super-expensive Cadillac version.
Notable features are not missing because GM's trying to force you to "upgrade" to the massively more expensive Cadillac. You can get everything you need without the excess bling with the Honda version. Win-win. Just select the top version, choose which leather interior you want, and you don't need to add extra packages or anything as it's included. 98% of the Cadillac's equipment for the price of the lowest trim Cadillac.
Interested...interested.."no CarPlay." Welp, I'm out.
ОтветитьI saw between the different trim and drivetrain options there will be 12 different Equinox's ? They made it way too complicated for first time EV buyers and likely dealers as well.
ОтветитьI hope people buy it so it can be better in the future....
ОтветитьI truly appreciate what GM has done and made (an "affordable") EV. The all-new Equinox is nicely appointed and affordable. The Equinox checks all the boxes for an (entry-level ) EV and goes up in trim to get all the features offered. This segment belongs to GM at moment. "Thank you GM)!!!
ОтветитьToo bad dealers are already marking up the AWD version to $50,000, so sadly they will NOT be available for $30,000 as you mention in the description.
ОтветитьI don't want my car connected to anyone's network. I might be a little odd but I can see this being an issue with government oversight or corporate corruption.
ОтветитьThe BS car dealers have been schmoozing for decades is the destination charge.....all shipping is a tax free for dealerships, meaning it's a pretty big bump on the final cost......it cost's them nothing.
ОтветитьWe won’t see them in Australia because we get much better Chinese cars.
Ответитьfront wheel drive was about cost and fuel efficiency. That trend started during the energy crisis during the 70's. This doesn't really matter in an EV but the benefit of the front wheel drive was having the weight of the engine over the wheels and of course pulling vs pushing the car.
ОтветитьUgly looking thing....but the tech is decent....except for the Google powered part. Basically all the new GM cars are Spyware on wheels.
ОтветитьIt’s less than 4k off a model y… which is better in every way… wtf is this guy on?
ОтветитьExcluding Chevy and tesla all Ev’s are going for 0% apr
Chevy going for 6% apr what ever your getting back your actually giving back
Greedy dealerships with add 5-10K to the sticker price. GM should copy the Tesla sales model.
ОтветитьZero to sixty in 8 secons jajaja that is crap
ОтветитьI don’t understand how you say that a front trunk takes up more internal space in the car when the model y literally has more leg room in the front, rear, and more trunk cargo cover. Such as stupid take when you consider that the Chinese version does have a front trunk like the lyriq.
ОтветитьSo this is a 35,000 electric vehicle. Not 28,000 vehicle. I understand dealers like mislead customers, I did not expect it from you
Did anyone mention that this pile of junk was built in Mexico. M e x i c o
Rear wiper for the win
ОтветитьAside from total range I think manufacturers should start telling us how much time it takes to charge to 100mi.
That's an easy metric for our head to process & decide on the right EV.
