As a reflective story element , The abilty to walk in another's shoes is astonising , being driven to bridge refective awarenees in realtion to the deep very real world layers of our own peoples history in our interaction with indigious peoples was and still very much "is" from an experence perspetve a deeply eye opening experence that not suprisingly brought about a lot of internal questions and a lot of very humbleing layers .. a powerful and creative venue that I allways look upon with a lot of respect.

Every time i see this scene, Im mesmerized by Jakes transformation. And then i can't help but feel happy for Jake when he starts to work his new feet

It's common to make fun of this movie's lack of characterization, how you can't even remember Jake's name. It's not untrue but i have certain distinct memories like this scene, his excitement and unadulterated joy of being able to walk, have this powerful body and being out of dystopian earth and on Pandora. To me, Jake was a perfectly fine fish-out-of-water and i like him even more as a father in the sequel. Characters don't have to be complicated
