I work in a hotel in Central London next to a school. Their school scarves look like they could have been from Hogwarts. I was thinking maybe JK Rowling got her inspiration for the uniform for Hogwarts from the school next to the hotel.

Bothwell School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is, in my opinion, a much better LARPing organization for magic. They have a bigger and better castle with more funding. They also just "adopted" College of Wizardry as they were struggled to stay funded.

Another place you should visit are the shambles in York, England. It is what Diagon Ally in based off. It is an old street where you can find a harry potters shop with wands and robes. I live in York and go there a lot :)

I have went to Harry Potter studio tour and it was amazing! It was a school reward trip there and it was near my 11th birthday so happy early birthday to me!!!! I had such a meltdown when I saw the entrance to the great hall. I was so happy I started crying! I even got to go inside 4 privet drive, look at the potters cottage at godrics hollow, go in gringotts (and ruined gringotts where there was a really cool Dragon display thong)

They mention Scotland as the place where J.K Rowling wrote some books,but they forgot to tell where she started and got inspiration.
Porto in Portugal were she was teaching at the time...the capes that students wear were inspired on the university clothes that we have on universities,Salazar was the Portuguese dictator,thats why the mean team was called Salazar Slytherin...livraria Lello was the inspiration for the stairs and overall decoration in the Hogwarts,google it,you will be amazed,people from all around the world go there just to see it.
