All. Year. Round. Gerbings, Man, Gerbings.
The Big Suck: The shorts, the sweatpants, the Kevlar jeans, the socks, the boots, the T-shirt, the long-sleeve, the thermal shirt, the Henley or something thicker, the fleece vest, the Gerbings jacket (because it's like 18 out there... remember to pull the power cords out the sleeves or you come back to this point and start over), the flannel riding shirt, the immense scarf...it's getting hot in here... the armoured jacket, the rain shell, wrap the immense scarf around... do I have everything I need for class? ...fleece balaclava, helmet on, cinch the chinstrap around the immense scarf...where's the freaking wallet? phone? ...the fat gloves... and then try to make it outside from a NYC steam-heated 87-degree apartment before heat stroke, already halfway to a pile of sweat-soaked rag. And THEN the bike needs ten minutes of love before it'll run, whilst you stand there, dripping into your boots, knowing that sweat is gonna be like cold knives when you reach the Bridge.
The 77 pinched me Tuesday on Atlantic for splitting. I though of you. (Got called "the worst kind of driver, not just a repeat offender, an unrepentent, habitual, dangerous repeat offender". Wanted to put my arm around the cop, he seemed so unable to put his words together.)
.
Love it!
Hello from Jersey from a Fellow riding in 50 degrees now and hoping to ride year around, but I can see the cold coming. Probably wont be able to.
tbh i'd just move to miami cuz riding in winter is madness.
ОтветитьI know this area. Its in Brooklyn
ОтветитьNice vid, but I still luv my mta. If u prefer riding in the cold and rain over your mta, then more power 2 ya. Ride safe, god bless u.
Ответитьunderated video yo fr getting my 250 started has been hell yo
ОтветитьHey man! Im new to motorcycling and Im planning to get a motorcycle for commute and wanted to ride during winter aswell. Do you have to get a "winter tires" like cars in order to have a grip in the road? My work is only 3.2km away and having to take the bus is just a hassle. Our employee parking lot is outdoor so do I have to worry about my bike not starting because of the temperature? I live in toronto btw. Btw I can relate everything you said in this video! I learned riding before I could get a license back home in philippines so I can just ride around our neighbohood and by the time I got 18 we moved here in Canada. It's sucks thinking that if ever I buy a bike here, I keep the bike in for a couple of months because of winter but witnessing that you drive all year makes me think I can ride all season! You live in NYC so I guess our temperature during temperature doesnt have a great difference so I think its doable riding in winter here aswell!
ОтветитьI’m a teenager and nowadays I can’t afford a car, so I’m riding a motorcycle year round.
ОтветитьWell said - nice video! Keep warm & safe.
ОтветитьNow this is what the F°@% im talking blut NY VIbEz
ОтветитьDamn bro
ОтветитьHell yeah i loveyou man for telling the truth shit im broke asf thats why i bought a motorcycle. Parking is not that crazy than a car damn wish we could ride lol be safe
ОтветитьMy mans gots those hands. I’m quick to Shoot my bike to the shop and ride the other one
ОтветитьOut on the island bro, been struggling with this weather lately but took my bike out a few times already even with needing to work on it
ОтветитьNo days off. All season rider over here
Ответитьhey man I'm in MA here. Every time it's ~35 degrees and I'm borderlining on taking my car or bike, I watch this and it gives me to drive to ride in the winter. You're not alone!
ОтветитьLiving in Canada, I can relate to riding all year round... through the winter freeze. I only did it for fun... on a Yamaha YZ250... and that was purely on trails.
I worked with a guy who raced his Ducati during racing season; and in the offseason (including the winter months) he rode a BMW F650. Even when it went down to -25° Celsius, his crazy ass was riding to work. Then again, he had no choice (no car). He claimed to ride all year round, because it kept his skills up.
In NYC... Manhattan... Most people don't drive; those who do, don't mind sitting in traffic jams. 🤣 Seriously! Unless you have some place to park, driving a car is a hassle in NYC.
If I were you, I'd buy heated gear; and install connections to plug it all in for those extra cold days. Not that I'm a candy ass, but I've already had the pleasure of soldiering through the tough spots. I know I 'can' do it, but I like being warm, more than freezing my balls off. 🤣
Welp time for Illy to move to Cali xD
ОтветитьFrom New Mexico, it gets to about 28f at its coldest bet NYC sounds like hell
Ответитьawesome video!
ОтветитьWhat camera and microphone do you use ;) ?
nice video
So... There is no snow in winter in New York, right?
Cheers from Russia! :)
That's when bumper to bumper is your friend, riding 1hand on throttle and 1 on the engine to bring back feeling.
ОтветитьHere’s to ridding nyc all year long-Cheers!!!
ОтветитьNice disklock , got the same 3... London is very similar and I'm on the bike 24/7 just cheaper less stressful and great to ride ...
ОтветитьHahahaha bike itis. Have it too. Pinlock and rainx on the visor clear as a bell all year .
ОтветитьYou should get a Grom for the winter!
ОтветитьBroooo I am from Europe and i ride my bike everywhere just like you. I have never felt more connected to anyone. Every single word was so true. I feel you man. Keep up the good work btw
ОтветитьAll four seasons is the way to go. I got caught in the rain yesterday. Wet + 40° + 55mph = cold af, but I'm still glad I was on 2 wheels instead of 4.
ОтветитьUse to live in nyc. I was dumb broke back then. But even if i wasnt id never own a car. Theres no point theres zero parking and traffic up the ass.
Bike makes wayyy more sense in everyway.
Shit im probably gonna head to nyc to be a tourist in the summer but im gonna take the bike not my car fuck that.
In New York, someone would instantly start honking their horn and shouting at someone who just crashed their bike and is struggling to get back up.
ОтветитьDamn, Money you need to invest in heated grips and those handlebar mufflers. I can relate bout the parking hopscotch having lived in the Ironbound in Newark. Just thinking about having to pay a nieghbor for a spot in there driveway two blocks away sends me into a rage.
ОтветитьI've been riding for about 3 years and this is my first year where I'm riding year round. I got it easy though in comparison weather wise. I'm riding between San Francisco and Oakland mostly. We had some heavy rain last week and that was a little dicey on the Bay Bridge with the high winds and rain. Props to you for riding all the time in some tough conditions. Do they ticket people for lane splitting in NYC?
ОтветитьRiding all year sounds like content all year to me, I like it!
So, don't you have problems with rust from all that salt on the streets?
Hey , liked and subscribed, I live in NY to and i appreciate you making this vid . You are tough riding all year round daily . I bought heated gloves (lithium battery ) , they help a lot . I also like to ride in winter but i own a car and have a family so can’t be on the bike as much as i would like . I also wait for those days after it rains and then the roads dry up nice and clean and salt free . I have an 09 Fz1 just out bar risers on it . What year is yours ?
ОтветитьBIKER BRAH 4 LYFE
ОтветитьEast New York represent. I'm looking to get a bike for similar reasons
ОтветитьLiving in the BX and only with a bike I absolutely understand this lol ride on my dude ...ride on
ОтветитьDo a Rant ABOUT MFs CuTTING US OFF IN OFF WITH NO TURN SIGNAL
ОтветитьHeated grips, homie!!! The Oxford Heaterz are only $100!
Ответитьi ride a 2015 Yamaha r6 and i get the same reaction when I tell them that I ride all year round. by the way great channel man love the content
ОтветитьThat sucks having to live in a winter climate area. In the desert, I think it’s cold when we drop below 60. You’re a true street warrior. I didn’t think you could ride when it’s like that, but the proof was in the video. Bad ass.
ОтветитьBro the beginning of your video is how I feel all the time when people look at me riding in the winter spot on g
ОтветитьGet some guards for your hands
ОтветитьYup motorcycle-only driver here in California, yeah man you need to find greener pastures.....
ОтветитьI do 6K a year on my bikes in Long Island NY, and prefer it (I can do COLD)...BUT..."Once they drop the SALT/SAND I am FUCKING DONE"...but I got a Jeep specifically for that shit.
A car in NYC is a pain in the ass ...so I hear you.
The worst period is the first weeks of december. You can't ride anymore because of the iced roads and the snow but theres not enough white powder laying around to take my snowmobile for a ride.
ОтветитьI had a new one this year, frozen locks.
ОтветитьMuffs & heated grips, once your hands are warm you're laughing 👍 motorcycle courier Dublin city, it rains more then not over here..
Ответить
