Intel NUC and VMware ESXi 7 Home Lab Server Build

Just used the unaltered ESXi 8.0U2 iso from VMWare and all drivers are working on my NUC10, including the network driver.

I need to have remote work done. I currently have a very budget / simple RDP Wrapper on literally a Point of Sale I5 pc. I am in need of not only upgrading but doing this the right way. I'm crossed between a R730 with 2 E5-2697v4 processors,. or this Intel NUC idea. This Server has 36 cores and 128 gb of ram. Obviously can run VMWare Sphere. I"m looking at eventually 8 machines. But by my esitimate, I can run 20 easy right? All WIn10. So.. I have the space. I've studied it. Am I better off with this NUC idea to run Win10 machines? New to this-- thanks. Also with 2.3GHz per core, am I going to get slow performance for basic use, (chrome, sheets, email).

Hi! I'm a total noob and I'm trying to setup a home lab by installing a few emulators on a NUC to learn more on firewalls and networking. Do you have any links and suggestions on where I can learn from scratch? I also have yet to purchase a NUC and would love to hear if you have any suggestions.

Good LORD that looked painful. Fiddling and mucking around with all the commands and stuff. But That little Nuc is a REAL powerhouse! Excellent video you have produced from start to finish my good man!

Nice one. I´m still using a SUPERMICRO X10SDV-8C+-LN2F - Motherboard - Mini-ITX - Intel Xeon D-1540 (MBD-X10SDV-8C+-LN2FO) with 64 GByte RAM and a 1 TByte 970 PRO M.2 SSD, but a NUC would be probably the next step. I have a VMUG subscription to run a BIG-IQ VE licence manager, a couple of BIG-IP VE lab instances and a CentOS for routing, DNS, NTP, RADIUS on it.
