What software do you recommend to edit your drawings like you've mentioned?

I've been drawing my whole life, and took multiple art classes at my high school. What I found I'm best at is thick line work cartoon art. So I think it could be easier for me to adapt traditional tattoo styles. Of course I'm going to practice it until I get it down, and I'm sort of excited and nervous to talk to the tattoo place I go to about it. I'm going in to finish up the rest of my tattoo in about a month, so I'm going to practice drawing every day until I have enough to show him. I probably wont have a portfolio ready by then, but I'll have photos on my phone. Isnt the best way to go about it, but I have to work with what I got, and the only thing I have is my artwork and determination

I’m about to get an apprenticeship with a shop I frequently go to, but I really hate realism.....I enjoy fun ones, I do respect realism but it’s not my cup of tea and I don’t think portraits are very good looking at all. I would prefer having personality and my own style, so the tips you gave are good but I really don’t think you need to do realism to get a tattoo apprenticeship lol that’s just more of a old standard that some shops uphold

Naah it's all about character, if you are a narcistic so called artist pussy .
Doesn't matter if you are the new Rembrandt.. we need humor and hard work starting under at the stairs
Without acting like a child after we make fun of you ,and we do that on a daily basis.
So stop acting like a child .and maybe you could be a tattoo craftsman or woman ..the art part comes with the job .

I wouldn't go to a tattooist that doesn't actually have that many tattoos. Just saying. You can spend all day drawing nice pictures but you need to start defacing your body.

This helped me so much- I’ve been struggling getting anything accomplished , I’m in a sorta limbo just drawing aimlessly with an intention of eventually having a portfolio done... my brain feels so scattered all day long as I work without actually getting anything done really!
so your right. Make a list of what specifically will be on each page- then finally I’ll hopefully be able to just focus and get pages done. Lol seems simple but my brain is so scattered with stuff like this, I try doing everything all at once then get stuck not knowing how to begin

Hi, question. So I have my portfolio together, but I have some work in my binder that is too big to fit into clear sleeves so I put a few together in the front and a few together in the back of my binder (which they would just have to pull out and look at instead of flip the pages) is that considered unprofessional? Those are photos I would love to share. They are just too big.

I really want to do this...I have a 5 year old son so it's not possible to draw for long periods of time and I find myself getting disheartened cos I don't have enough to put together. A few years back I lost all my paintings and drawings in a bad situation and felt too sad to start over. But I seem to have found myself doing it again...

Thank you so much for this video! At the start of COVID I lost my office job and it’s always been my goal to be a tattoo artist so for the past year I’ve been working away in my room teaching myself how to draw and building a portfolio. This video has really reassured me. I still have a while to go but this is so helpful! Thanks dude
