Why resell value makes you concerned? If you are poor, then just dont buy watch. That is easy right?
ОтветитьDon't buy watches as investments...
ОтветитьThinking about adding a grand seiko to my collection here shortly
ОтветитьI bought a Grand Seiko Shunbun the week this video was uploaded, hahah.
ОтветитьNothing wrong with grand seiko watches, anyone thinks there rubbish dont no a watch
Ответитьpeople who "invest" in watches are idiots. you invest in things like real estate, stocks bonds etc....
ОтветитьJust seen a brand new Night Birch for 30% off MSRP…… 😜 what a watch!
ОтветитьThere is a buy it for life movement. Grand Seiko is one I'd buy to own forever.
Ответитьwhere can I buy an spring drive with this 35% price drop? I"m going to USA in may, any reliable second hand place to look in NYC, Dallas or orlando?
ОтветитьBuying watches as investments is a lame excuse for collecting watches. Buy it, wear it and simply enjoy it.
ОтветитьIt's the perfect time to buy Grand seiko! I did myself better than rolex! And there's no Investment in Watches at all buy them to enjoy 😉
ОтветитьAD is telling me they can't negotiate on a limited edition GS (SLGH021G). Should I hold off?
ОтветитьAgree with everyone who’s said buy a watch to enjoy it but… Am I the only one who finds it amusing that a video talking about GS not being a good investment starts by plugging an overpriced homage… exactly the type of watch that will have absolutely zero value once you’ve bought it?
ОтветитьIT’S due to the YEN. The YEN is tanking. It’s a currency thing. Not exactly a watch thing.
ОтветитьLike all the other pootube watch channels a speculator/dealer that doesn’t like watches, just likes money he can extract from the audience.
ОтветитьYou should not be posting video on watches if money is your main concern and point of reference.
ОтветитьThis is quite a normal drop in resale value for most watch brands
ОтветитьI’ve never paid full retail for an Omega either. So GS not much different.
ОтветитьBit like spending a ton of money on a Rolex and finding out a SM is finished better. I don't buy to sell my watches.
ОтветитьGS isn’t tanking. Most watches drop in value significantly on the used market. Lame video.
ОтветитьOnly goons buy watches for resell value. Buy it because you enjoy it loser
ОтветитьI never buy a watch thinking I'm going to sell it later. A watch is a lifetime joy, not an investment. I put a deposit down for a new Tokyo lion just today. Stunning watch. Absolutely beautiful.
ОтветитьJust bought a lightly used sbgw231 for £2500 in the uk - if there’s a better watch in the world for this price I’d like to know
ОтветитьThis content creator can't see anything beyond residual values. Most of us aren't trader's
ОтветитьA great investment to buy a watch at low price and keep it until the value goes back up. Like stocks and shares. Don't miss the silver lining.
ОтветитьBuy a watch with intentions of selling it for profit.....No one needs a watch.....you're not a friend.
ОтветитьThere are better things to invest in, like property or stocks. You should be buying watches because you like them or you can appreciate the engineering and design and so forth
ОтветитьLolllll people buying watches as investments 🤡
ОтветитьIf you buy a watch as an investment you are stupid anyway
ОтветитьStay away from their USA service center. Its horrible!
ОтветитьI collect GS and KS for fun, and have one modern piece. Just collect and love 'em! Great time to do so.
ОтветитьSomeday, for now budget micro-brands, and Citizen/Casio watches work for me. I plan on getting a Casio Oceanus S100 this summer though.
ОтветитьAll brands are suffering right now.
ОтветитьBuying a GS is an emotional experience. I dont think it ever crossed my mind about its future valuation when i got my SLGA009. If you're penny pinching and worried about reselling it, then I dont think you fit the GS demographic.
ОтветитьHint: shave your cheeks. You look like a bum, mate. Clean up.
ОтветитьGood click bait. Yep, have 2 grand seiko's looking forward to add a 3rd one. Not an investment for me they're art I want to enjoy for a lifetime.
ОтветитьPeople that buy watches as an investment, knows nothing about investing.
Buy watches like spending on vacations, enjoy the experience.
Is there a watchbrand under 10k except Rolex (I know 10k is pushing it) the appreciates in value? I know none.
Occasionally there’s hype like the pistachio breitling (or the Seiko limited with the crazy Mosaik dial) but these are outliers.
Generally you can get many great watches from omega Tudor etc for at least -20% plus in great condition on the secondary markets.
I bought a new slgh017 from Grey market at 30% discount and couldn’t be happier. Imagine selling away and only going to lose around 5-10% after enjoying the watch
ОтветитьHere’s the real deal by someone who buys GS as both a collector and admirer: Grand Seiko before 2023 are the ones to look for to save. The price being low is only because of how weak the yen is, so people resell and match that market. Grand Seikos post 2023 have had their price adjusted(only NEW models released after 2023) to match US prices closer. So a watch that would have cost you $7200(the proper amount to match that for jp market is 720k) before, would cost you close to 1 million yen now(adjusted to be closer to that $7200 usd) . A good example being the new quartz snowflake. A watch like that should be about 400,000 yen to match the $3800 USD price, but they have adjusted it(since the yen is so weak) so it’s now 510k+ yen. If the yen were to go back to a 1USD:100YEN price, grand seikos in the Japanese market would actually be way more expensive than their USD prices.
ОтветитьMost of them are tanking because the JPY is tanking, so >50% of that market that is priced in JPY actually becomes cheaper against USD that these market index trackers use. Other watch brands are not as exposed to a single currency like Grand Seiko is.
ОтветитьLong term, I don't expect any modern watches to hold their value. No one cares about a 2009 Lamborghini. Most 2024 luxury watches will go the same route.
ОтветитьJust buy a GS on the secondary market, that’s what I’ll do next.
ОтветитьThe Time Teller and the comments section don't seem to be aware of what's really going on. The issue is that the dollar is historically strong compared to the yen right now. Conversely, that means that things priced in yen are super cheap if you're paying in dollars. Combine that with a modern internet that let's you buy watches straight from Japan, and voila, the discount / depreciation is explained. You can buy a GS straight from Japan for a fraction of what you would have paid, and of course, that affects the second hand market. When the yen rebounds, the discount / depreciation will disappear.
ОтветитьGS is perfection! Cheaper perfection!? Yes please!!!
ОтветитьI have a speedy project alaska, ND sub and a GS SBGE001 --- all bought at predatory pre owned prices. My GS have been on my wrist dsily since November and haven't stopped wearing it. The GS may be the GADA piece at this point.
ОтветитьI thought it’s about buying low and selling high. Watch as an investment is a joke and screw RM’s ugly looking watches. Craftsmanship of a Grand Seiko is far superior then Rolex. I own a Spring Drive and, yes it’s big and chunky but a great watch. I’m happy to see prices drop, and I hope it continues.
ОтветитьWatches, like guitars are not investments.
ОтветитьIt's over for Grand Seiko
