I think we should begin with returning the lands to the Lakota and let them decide from there. That goes with a lot of seized lands from various tribes. The only way for Native Americans to break out of the cycle of poverty and hopelessness we pushed them into is to give them a way to grow and develop their own wealth.

As someone who weirdly share the mentality of protohistoric people, I don't care about massacring a population after a successful war, but I care if the war was legitimate and US' ones against natives were not, never.

I respect native americans but I can't get enough baffled of how unlearning they were. Every eastern native nation was kicked after multiple treaties violations, yet the Lakotas, who met them and talked with them, did not learn anything from these experiences.
