This scene show us not regular battle,but soviet surrounded troops trying to fight and come out from fortress. Thay had simple choise: surrender or fight to death, and they choose fighting, instead of europeans cowards in France

It shows an attempt by the Soviet units to break through and reunite. They were surrounded in the Brest Fortress in the first days of war. Soviet forces held under siege for a month. Brest fortress held on even when other major cities behind them like Minsk were already taken

No wonder 20,000,000 russians died because of WW2. Human wave charges, bocking battalions, penal battalions to clear minefields. That will do it.

if this is true, its a really stupid plan...first of all, thet should try to take out some of these flood lights, that should be possible. You can't just charge someone like that with no preparation....
