Most people don't scrutinize as much as you do.
This was a great game and frankly the mechanics aren't as bad as your driving skills 😉

Honestly have to say after playing GTA V going back and playing this was a disappointment. Terrible driving like 2 memorable missions completely grey map. Really like Nico, roman, and Bernie though.

GTA 4 was great for it's time, this kinda makes me want to replay it. I will say on the hate for GTA 5 i will never understand that from some older fans, for me it tied at #1(it didn't sell 190million copy's for nothing) with San Andreas...to each their own i guess lol.

I actually really liked driving in GTA IV. I would have loved to see a refine and upgrade on GTA V instead of that really boring arcade driving style

I only played a bit of 4, seems fun but i hated having to get use to the cars. The story is fine. GTA stories don't have to be over the top, they can be reality based

I miss this game, incredible how GTA 4 never has been beaten.

I personally didn't think the chemistry between Nico and Kate was that bad, but then again, this is the first GTA I played since San Andreas, which contained such riveting dating dialogue as;

Girl (Millie): "Airline food makes you fart!"
CJ: "This is so interestin', I'm just gonna listen..."

Play on freeaim makes the shooting run way better

I wish the dev's would not listen to the loud minority and ''true fans''. Because had rockstar done that, they'd have realized that TBoGT was the best approach for gta v. Its story was still serious at times, but had more light hearted humor.

The reason gta v's world feels so empty is the fun is kinda gone. GTA IV had great police system and the physics were fantastic. Half the fun was exploring the physics and messing with it. GTA V lacks this.

GTA V with its open world also makes its missions like movies. You don't get that much choice. This lack of choice is further worsened due to the massive open world.

There's more issues with GTA V, but these are the main ones. At least GTA V was very well optimized. A major upgrade over gta iv and very welcome.

“All the missions are too scripted.” What you seem to fail to understand is that GTA games are all narrative stories, not choice driven RPGs. That’s not a very good observation to make as it’s kind of the whole point of the games.

This game has a special place in my heart. Me, my older brother and my little brother all played this game. We each had our own saved slot and would tell each other what time we saved at so we didn’t ruin each others progress or cars lol. We played this game up until GTA 5 came out but I still look back at and takes me back to being a pre teen and damn I kinda miss that feeling.

its funny how you shit on the kate and michelle plots cause the game doesnt make you do missions with them lol. The game expects you to socialize with your goober friends and go on dates. I did when i played this as a teen, which made those plotlines so much stronger.

Have you driven a 90s sedan? I own one and I find driving my car almost identical to the vapid police cruiser/taxi. Probably what helped me to learn driving before I got my learners

GtaIV is one of my favourites in the series overall. it was the og next gen era GTA title. I loved the mechanics of the game and the liberty city map. The missions from day one were action packed and immersive. Going on dates and nights out with friends was a fun throw back to SA. Going to comedy shows etc. Being able to pick up random objects off the floor or tables was a great mechanic that was really missed out on in gtaV. The ragdoll physics was both frustrating and also hours of entertainment in itself 😂.

I love how even terrified, no weapon, probably shit his pants a little, after what happened to kate Roman is right there with his cousin not leaving his side as they take revenge. That was why I always went bowling with him.

i really liked gta iv as a kid, but i loved gta v growing up bc of o lines grinding aspect, still annoying that u could be at the top of the empire state building on the og gta iv

My biggest problem with this game is the physics. They tried to go WAY too realistic when the most fun part about the previous 5 games is the crazy driving you can do and not dying all the time.

I agree, I liked GTAV a lot but it didn’t grab me as much as GTA4 and I think it’s because of Niko.

IMO both CJ and Niko are the best GTA mains.

In GTAV, I really liked Michael the best out of the 3 leads. Because of his messed up family, his shady dealings with the FIB and possibly betrayal of Trevor and Brad.

I was hoping for story dlc that was a prequel where we played as Brad, leading up with the deal Michael made.
