If the only pictures I show you of a car are the amazing body, you'd be excited. When you buy it and find out the engine is held together with gaffa tape and prayers, and the inside of the car is better suited for wild animals than people, you'd be rightfully pissed. I think demos that show only the single best part of the game are, in essence, lying by omission. Demos are a response to the unasked question "why should I buy the game", and displaying one single area because it's the only good area is is saying "it's good" and muttering under your breath "at this part".

A blurb would not be accurate if it only described a random chapter, and a demo is inaccurate if it only describes one random section of the game.

I saw this recommended to me and immediately knew Halo 2 was going to be talked about

I might be in the dark here, but I think the original bioshocks graphics and style aged way better than infinite

1. Infinite didn't deserve its ratings, and it really was disappointing compared to the advertised game.
2. Fallout 4 was definitely a regressed RPG heavily.
3. Cyberpunk 2077 also suffers from the regressed RPG mainly based on its false promises.

Watching this after cyberpunk 2077 came out is quite funny

fallout 4 did not lie, and I dont think it misinformed. It mostly show cased the action, crafting, and visuals, wich were the strongest in the series. The issue with the game itself, is that even if its the best shooter in the series, it is still a weak shooter compared to its pears. So its a mediocre shooter and a poor RPG, and RPG is what carried the series. Imagine if the new God of war games focused on improving the platforming from the original, totally misplaced priorities.

You called the Cyberpunk Demo

I think CG previews are important for story based games. But a CG demo is, as you say, worthless.

to be fair, if you have no idea of what to expect in game (i.e. haven't seen trailers or gameplay) then obviously you won't run in to this issue. this happened to me with bioshock infinite and remains as one of my top games i've ever played

Not gonna lie, saw the title, thought it said accurate E3 demons, got interested, realised what the video actually was and went "Ah well, I'm here anyway."

Looking back at this, Watch Dogs was a fuckin masterpiece compared to Cyberjunk 2077

This video needs a remaster considering cyberpunk just came out

i never understand the "downgrade" with siege it looks better and from what i can remember the game-play is about the same.

There was a time when a trailer was just making you curious and a demo would confirm your expectations and then you buy a game.
Bringing back demos or trial versions will improve end user experience

Fallout 4 didn't disappoint me, it just wasnt the Fallout game I wanted. Ideally a direct sequel to 2 with the same mechanics would be perfect, but assuming they never go back to top down RPG, please God just make more Fallouts like New Vegas

Kinda funny watching this video after Cyberpunk came out with an indescribable amount of bugs and glitches, and SEEING actual Cyberpunk 'demo' footage remembering being super hyped for its release.
Disclaimer, Don't get me wrong, I still like Cyberpunk. I haven't bought it because of money reasons(a pretty common problem for many(though I did buy DIRT5 PreOrder)). I believe Cyberpunk is, looking past its issues, a good game at heart. It just needs polish, and a lot of it, to become perfect. I hope the Devs can fix those quick before the name might be soiled too much for anyone who hadn't been able to play it yet.
