Why it's so zoomed? Because the sensor is too small and the lens is made for bigger sensor. It's just made out of trash like old laptop camera.

I found that at a second hand market in sharjah and it is way cheaper than an actual GoPro which here costs 1000 AED

Well now 3 years later, the action cam is 4k wide normal and zoom choices and 24 bux and comes with 2 batteries all mount accessories.

Idk why but the $4 sports cam gives me nostalgic vibes...

So there's an actual brand of sports camera in China called SJCAM which has been around for years and offers similar functionality to a GoPro at a much lower price, something like 100 USD with a lot of accessories included. I have a SJ4000 from about 2015 which is still going strong. Interestingly the $5 trash in the video is housed in EXACTLY the same blue casing as my SJ4000, minus the branding.

So I suspect these $5 toys are factory rejects or backdoor stock from a manufacturer who's also contracted to SJCAM and was hoping to make some extra cash on the side.

At that price point it's really not intended for actual use by the end user They're making a couple of bucks maximum, and basically just relying on the end user to bin it rather than demanding a refund.

But how do I record

Regardless of the Mickey taking and decision, the amount of kit and then performance for just four dollars is outstanding. For those without big budgets, or for those like me, who use one to record and incidents during my disability scooter rides , it is adequate …. i have an action cam at about 15$ that shoot 4k 15fps but the full hd is very good and wide, but is also trash near my GOPRO Hero 5 Black

I'm going to dig out my old hero 2, I laughed when I saw you were going to compare it but it's not that bad considering. I used it to capture my thumbnail pic which won me 1st place in an RC competition. Can't complain. 😂

I have 3 cheap action cameras, all of them cost a bit more than this one, and they all came with a selection of mounts, and 2 batteries (and i think 2 of them came with an external battery charger)

And WOW, that thing is even worse than the cheap cameras i have (at least the ones i have actually have wide angle lenses)

The thing you didn't mention is no matter what settings I use, the video is 640x480! Nowhere near HD. It's a lie. It doesn't even do 720p! Still photos are 2592 x 1944, but not very good quality. I think mine is the exact same model. It was about the same price, although it says $15 and free shipping. Mine says brand is Senbowe, manufactured by Shenzhen Heya Electronics Company, LTD. Model: HD1080
