Great review and assessment after the roll out euphoria of the Deus 2 and people have a chance to catch their breath now. If all the videos of the deus 2 are analyzed by viewers they will see it's head and shoulders above the rest but are you willing to go through a learning curve that may take years of experience for that extra performance and cost...
However, with the Equinox 800 now costing $999 U.S. dollars and all the modifications you need to purchase and poor quality of build of it, the price is nearing a Deus 2.

Great perspective I can also say it has my ctx 3030 beat a specialty in weight and recovery speed at deeper depth

Can I add a little firsthand experience to where you said you didn't think you had found anything with D2 that D1 wouldn't find. I am an ORX user and my brother uses the D1. We went out recently with our mate who had just purchased a D2 and after 5 minutes he shouts, ' I'm going for this it sounds faint and deep' Both myself and bro run over to investigate and neither of us got a squeek. We look at each other with panic in our eyes and sure enough out popped a deep coin. Me and bro walk away with things to discuss . . . .

Playing with my wife's Nox. lol. I'm sorry but that just brought me to giggles. Reminded me of Benny Hill many years ago. Back to being a grown-up - Great video Sir and very useful.

Hi what is the best program on stubble field. Have walked there before with the nox now with the deus ll. Finds from medieval and Roman. And adjustments are still necessary in those programs. Greetings Chiel

The nox is very robust I’ve used mine diving for gold under water with zero issues .. I do love the deus also but the issue I had with my old deus was soon as the coil was 6 inches under water it lost signal to the unit so I had to buy the water detecting cable then had a anoying cable to deal with .. do you know if the deus 2 has the same issue ? It made me sell my old deus

Had a nox had a harness loved it but it was down to carrying too much gear. If they could have got the weight down to the same as equinox then would have kept it. But depends on your age fitness etc but they are all good. I am a great believer in location location location rather than machine

I have used my Nox extensively since 2019 on the beach, in the wet, rain and biggest storms and it has been fine. I tested it in the worst storms to see how it did. I hose it down after every use and I do not wrap it in cotton wool when I am detecting. I am just sending my Deus WS5 headphones back under warranty because they are not holding the charge. So on reliability Minelab wins. As an engineer I would say the Nox is much more ruggedly built than the Deus 1 or 2.
People do break the coil lugs off on the Nox coils by leaning on the detector. The Deus would break instantly if you did that. So advice is to not use the detector as a rest for your body weight. I have 2 Noxes but no Affiliation to any machine. I designed detectors in the late 1960s and early 70s. Yes the Nox is a bit heavier than the Deus’s but I get cracking results with the lighter 6inch and 9.5x5 coils. Also the Nox can be taken straight into the sea but the Deus 2 needs an antennae wire wrapped around it. I might well get a D2 but it needs to have normal wireless over the head headphones and a 9.5x5 elliptical and bigger elliptical coils. And it has to pass my own tests on my test garden and beaches. Deus 2 is lighter than the Nox which is a big plus but there is more faffing around with the D2.
I use mostly the small coils or the 15” elliptical with a bungee to take the weight
But in real dig scenarios which is better?

For me the decision to buy this beauty was driven by 3 major factors....1. the weight for my damaged shoulder....I have swung this all day and not felt a single twinge, whereas my Simplex caused me considerable pain by the end of the day. 2. I loved the idea of customiseable programmes, using MF's, and have loved playing with it. 3. Synching with the pointer & phones (I know the Simplex did this anyway but I wanted to retain this ability). I don't regret the purchase one little bit. Thanks boys, soon be 700+

Good vid, apart from the pointless/distracting swinging of the machine. Being a lightweight machine is not always an advantage. Try getting through hard stubble with a detector that is less than a kilo in weight. I have the Deus 1, plus the nox 800...so unsure whether I get one or not 😑

Does the Deus 2 have a pre-set park program?? Do you think there is a big learning curve going to the Deus 2 from the Nox 800??? Thanks for doing the video, and Happy Hunting!!!!

I am ready to order this. I think these are flying off the selves in the US. The complexity is what to expect on a high end detector. Look at the CTX 3030. It is very complex.
Now I wish you could do setup on a pc and download other users programs. I Wonder if you can update the firmware to newer versions without deleting all of your saved programs

Gracias y saludos

You said the Nox is also waterproof but to what depth? The DEUS 2 can be used as a diving detector with the bone headphones to close to 70 feet.

I have an Equinox 800 and you can definitely create and save customized programs with it. Please make that important correction to your review comparison.
I owned a Deus 1 for less than a year, not knowing when I purchased it that the Deus 2 was nearing final development. I sold my Deus 1 in January so that I could place a prepaid order for a Deus 2. I await delivery. A feature of the Deus 2 that is advantageous over the Nox 800 is that is totally wireless and the remote is removable and pocketable. Also, the cam lock shaft design makes coil changes twice as easy and fast as the Equinox design. The Deus headphone selection and the stand alone removable remote control are miles ahead of the MineLab headphones and stationary remote. The XP pinpointer connects wirelessly with the Deus 1/2 remote and headphones. The Deus 1/2 remote controls can be used to locate a misplaced XP pinpointer, even if it is switched off. The Deus 2 has an ability to locate hoards. I think we shall see this realized in the near future as the number of units in field use increases…no guarantees, but it’s a strong hunch about the built-in capability of the Deus 2 to penetrate very deeply on large targets, especially in low-mineralized soil. We shall see, eh.

The Deus 2 can be configured with the the WS6 headphone control module mounted on the coil shaft as a fully functioning remote control. This means that in the future the Deus 2 might be sold without the remote control and underwater antenna at a significantly lower price for users who don’t need the underwater diving capability.
