Just got 5 chicks and can't wait till their big enough to live outside and run around the yard!
ОтветитьWhat do you do when you go on vacation?
ОтветитьUmm butterfly larvae ( caterpillars) are not worms
ОтветитьGood info. Simply and clearly presented. Many thanks!
ОтветитьAdding a heat lamp in a coop full of dried bedding and wood is the leading cause of coop and barn fires everywhere. Even subtle sources of heat such as panel heaters are somewhat dangerous, but still a way better option than a direct heat lamp. Hope your insurance is paid up!
ОтветитьI advise the deep wdding method for smell and you clean out 2 times a year
ОтветитьWhy can’t we add their poop into the garden?
ОтветитьI have a big backyard in the woods. Will they venture off if no fence? Or just stay on the grass in the backyard?
ОтветитьHow do we get them to lay eggs and they hach but with no rooster
Ответитьstarting tomorrow, only worry is my dogs. Im hoping they guard and not kill.
ОтветитьWhat breed of chickens are these? They seem very friendly/docile. Thank you for sharing your experience.
ОтветитьI see your feeder is on the ground. Don't they poop in it?
Ответитьhow do you keep hawks or any predators from attacking like say when you're at work all day and they're left out in the ope?
ОтветитьBecky of Becky's Homestead says that chickens have to have protein. You can feed them tuna or cat kibble too. Also chickens have to have ground oyster shell or other grit to keep their laying muscles working well and for the shells of the eggs.
ОтветитьThis is a great video. My wife and I will be getting chickens soon.
ОтветитьGreat video, thank you.
Ответитьhow did I end up here????
damn now I want chicken 🐔
Where did you buy that coop from?
ОтветитьWhat breed of chickens are those?
ОтветитьThe biggest factor will be nosey neighbors that don't like them.(noise/smell)
The heat lamps can be a fire hazard. Make sure they are securely attached.
Who takes care of your chickens when you go away?
ОтветитьBad ass video super helpful
ОтветитьThat is the number 1 thing for chickens and well gardening and rasing livestock in general is just jump into it!! Just leap! Go and keep running! I can’t tell you how many people I have said this too and they just stare. Yes jump in and keep going. Have the money and space first yes but jump in and you won’t regret it
Ответить👍👍👍
ОтветитьThanks for the video, I want to do this for sure.
ОтветитьDon't wash the eggs! you take off the protective layer. They keep fresh longer with the layer on.
ОтветитьThis was helpful. Thank you 😊

We have the same coop. Our chickens have soft grass, shade trees, and treats.
ОтветитьThe Joy of raising a chicken.
ОтветитьI laughed at the chicken wearing a hat n jeans sitting in the trough
ОтветитьWhat do you do when it is raining?
ОтветитьI hear to put some ACV in the water and they need grit if you don’t have a place where they can pick it naturally.
Ответитьits none of the cities business. we all have a right to self sustain, forage, and hunr.

ОтветитьIt looks like the chickens picked all the ivy leaves off the vines on your retaining wall..lol
ОтветитьWe live in Arizona, so we put in an additional plastic tote with water and installed a misting system (spoiled, but happy).
ОтветитьPlus it's fun to come up with chicken names: Nugget, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Original, and Crispy. Our newest ones are Lucy and Ethel (Cuckoo Marans) and Thelma and Louise (Rhode Island Reds).
ОтветитьWe have a hen who thinks she is a rooster. She tries to crow every morning, very badly. I'm sure our neighbors are thrilled.
Ответитьthis video is very informative and feels super relevant in todays times! thank you!
ОтветитьDo you have to worm them or give them vit.?
ОтветитьYou won't have them laying on top of each other if you put fake eggs in all the beds
