Jeeeesus! Why Almatee?! It's not black or green tee! Almaty!
The railway-wagons from the DDR are the best passenger-carriages for long-distance-trains around the world. 👍
Russian have new Russian, trains not Soviet.
Cool video, but no toilet seat? I'd hate to have my butt slip into that toilet. How expensive aret toilet seats?
I'd rather fly with a rented aircraft and crew.
Fascinating video! Great footage and informative narration. So how did you sleep? ☺️
Ответитьtop video
Alm-ati Father of apples
Please remove dreadful background noise ruins the video. Have no background noise in future videos.
How much do prostitutes cost in Almaty?
Laughed outloud when you mentioned people asked you about the tea
Yes please! Please take a ride on the Flagship Train!
.... and since you asked: This kind of travel is also something that I definitely want to do.
Enjoy any further trips in some parts of the wold that are lesser known in the Western world.
you got there! wheres there? and now what???
You looked rather handsome in the Kazakh Railways blaser! 😂
That 2nd class sleeper is very similar to China's "soft sleepers". 4 beds per room, with a door, and no dedicated toilet for each room. But CR's train do provide outlets for each soft sleeper's room.
This is not the fullness of the sensations from the Soviet train. The most authentic experience is being a passenger in a reserved seat car. In Russia and Kazakhstan, it is called a "Platskart".
I have to note that in Russia such old wagons are almost not found.
Amazing presentation👍👍
I have an even more creative pair of stations, in Portugal:
Coimbra A.
Coimbra B.
I loved you vlog, as it reminds me my journey of Russian Railways in 2018.
Another great video, well researched. Can I suggested that we transfer the London ULEZ to Karaganda - it sounds like they need it more than we do.
Interesting that the freight cars looked a lot like American rolling stock.
Man, how many languages do you speak? xD Or are you like me, know enough phrases to be dangerous and / or get around? :p
Nice trip! 👍As for the train, for me, coming from an ex-communist country in Europe and where the things don't improve so fast, of course this trip seems like a ''normal'' trip, a ''normality'' we are used to. But for a German, English, French, American, etc...this is something unusual which it can happen only once in a life, BUT NOT MORE THAN ONCE (I capitalized that!)
Hi from Kaz, just for info, the horses were not wild 😅, just freely grazing ones
WHICH MONTH YOU TRAVELLED IN THIS VIDEO?
Only ten minutes late for such a long journey. The whole thing seems to be quite well organized. These old Ammendorf carriages still do their job!
Fan of the numbered naming convention? Well youre in luck, they plan to build/upgrade another station and call that almaty 3! If all goes to plan, it will be ~9 km west of almaty 1 and will serve as a regional/suburban transportation hub.
They are also planning to build a freight bypass north of the city to handle stuff going through from china further west. Almaty 1 historically served that role on top of handling passenger trains, which is why it's located relatively far from central areas of the city, at a lower elevation. And they are also planning to double track the branch line to almaty 2 (finally).
Speaking of almaty 2, those talgo overnight trains use that station, as well as the newer Nurly Jol/zhol station in Astana (i guess they missed the memo on station naming)
Also, a correction that doesnt matter much tbh, both almaty and astana (and shymkent too, i guess), being the largest cities of the country, are first-level subdivisions and dont fall under jurisdiction of the regions that surround them.
personally, I would've stayed in the f'ing cold soviet carriage I think. plenty covers, would've asked for tea on the replacement carriage frequently. freakishly cold maybe but still ... I personally like cold
Ответитьthis is the home town from borat!
Say hello to Mr. Tokayev and to Mr. Nur-Sultan Nazarbayev
A very cosy looking compartment - such a contrast to the almost ubiquitous white/grey wall coverings of most public transport nowadays.
Is that a college project?
This is cool
It’s still better than Amtrak
Man… this is not fun
Apples ! I never tried that !
I like Kazaksthan😊👍🙏🌷
Ответить😭😭 even kazakhstan has electrified long distance rail and the US doesn't, so embarrassing
What a ride! Must have been an experience of life.😁
This train even looks better than the RegioJet train I took in central Europe.
In my Country there is Problem, and the problem is Transport, it take very very long, cause Kazakzthan is big...
...🚉🚅, No sorry I know Kazakzthan is part of the modern world, but just couldnt help myself...😀
Trains there have Knockleheads like in the US, no Bumpers, aparently in Russia too, never realized that!
