In this webinar, students will learn what EIV does and does not report, refresh and data match schedules EIV follows, how to read the EIV Income Report and Income Discrepancy Report, what HUD requires, how to investigate and resolve tenant income discrepancies – both valid and invalid, and the rules of resident repayment agreements. Students will practice reconciling the EIV Income Discrepancy Report, identifying overpayments and underpayments of subsidy, and using third-party verification to calculate what the tenant owes or has overpaid in rent.
After completing this course, students will be able to:
Read and interpret the EIV Income Report.
Read interpret the EIV Income Discrepancy Report.
Investigate, resolve, and document valid Income Discrepancies.
Investigate, explain, and document invalid Income Discrepancies.
Create repayment agreements.
Identify whether reported Income Discrepancy is Valid or Invalid.
Calculate overpayment and underpayment of subsidy for Valid Discrepancies.
Understand the tenant’s obligations and the Owner’s obligations in resolving an Income Discrepancy.
Investigate and document the file to resolve Invalid and Valid Income Discrepancies.
Comply with the Time Frames required by HUD.
