I am not professionally trained but I took some high school level exams before and the phrase "This note hasn't found its consequence yet" seems to be a very well understood and accepted term for such "wrong" notes in the music world.

Even if there is no wrong note in terms of the hz of the waves, there is an awkwardly timed note.Even if the note itself fits perfectly with the context(harmony?), the timing aspect can make it wrong. So it's not just the waves but the start and end of the waves within the context that 'can' make it wrong. Note = Waves + timing
