Very pleasant video! ty
ОтветитьI don't even play ukele or know anyone who does but this breakdown was great, love it, liked and subscribed!
ОтветитьProps for learning how to pronounce his name.
ОтветитьMy first words to hearing this version, i immediately recognized that sound and said omg thats the same song Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's did from 50 first dates. I need to watch that movie again
ОтветитьIncredible, thank you.
This is a very sentimental song for me and to have you break down what a masterpiece it is, is special and makes me want to pick a ukulele.
All the best and thanks again!
He wasn’t heard because it was a cover song and not original
ОтветитьYou act like he made that song. He didn’t… it came out in the 30s.
ОтветитьI love his version but I’ve got to say… hearing his labored breathing at the beginning of it has always kind of bummed me out. It’s so clear how unhealthy he was at the time of recording.
ОтветитьIt’s pronounced Yoo kuh lay lee. Not ukah lee lee.
Ответить❤
ОтветитьGod Bless IZ
ОтветитьI can tell you know Or at least that you have a great idea of where Good music come from .... The Artist!!!
Human error and lack of absolut prescision (like between a sang notes and its autotune conterpart)
Making notes uniques ans special after the artist can refine its way to play the way he like ... making the song they play even more special !!!
I still don't understand how he was completely unknown until the mid to late 2000s.
ОтветитьBro the ohh-ke-le-le is trippin me off 😂
Ответитьthis song was the soundtrack to my grandmas funeral and its really special to me
ОтветитьI live in Hawaii. We see lots of rainbows all over the place. I even have one on my license.
ОтветитьIZ Was just a Hawaiian god and the gods of Hawaii forever hold him in their debt for making everyone remember the greatness of Hawaii before the United States took over
ОтветитьI grew up listening to braddah Iz as a child. "somewhere of the rainbow" was a lullaby for me. I'm glad to see him getting this appreciation and exposure today. He was such a kind soul.
ОтветитьUkulele blows, its on the same F tier of instruments as the harmonica.
Imagine a song with just a ukulele and a harmonica.
Iz was the best there was.
And it's pronounced you-kele, not oo-kele.
Stop it 🙄
Unpopular opinion:
It was okay at best and is EXTREMELY overrated.
My with and I play and have played this song for our boys when they were babies to sooth them …. This man has given a kind of comfort to my sons when my wife and I couldn’t , thank you sir
ОтветитьI don't know why but the breathing really makes this song feel alive.
ОтветитьSong unused for 5 years. Well managed.
Ответитьgreat break down, i played in band 22 years ago...... i couldnt tell u squat what u showed on screen music wise lol.
but u explained it all very well. that even i understood everything and kept me engaged through the whole video.
also def a top 10 or 5 song of all time imo..... amazing to me he just woke up and had to go record it.
No its just a banger song. thats why its a hit.
Ответитьi dont get it
ОтветитьSooooo old western guitar playing…..
ОтветитьWow... Iz was a freakin master.
ОтветитьCant help but love his voice and playing style. I always wondered why he changed the lyrics.....? They dont really make sense in his version. I still stop and listen anytime this song is playing somewhere. How can you not? Just and observation.
ОтветитьCould his physical mass surrounding the instrument affect the acoustic sound?
ОтветитьThis song, whether we realize it or not, has an impact on all of us. Israel had such a beautiful gift and in my opinion made the world a little brighter and better, even if it was not for very long. Rest well, Israel. Thank you for such a beautiful gift❤
ОтветитьHad to stop watching the video cause you can't pronounce ukulele right.
Ответитьjust accept the fact that he is legend and u ain't
ОтветитьThis was like a finger print analysis! ❤
ОтветитьKanikapila all night long. As someone from the island of Kauai i can say a lot of us that learned how to play ukulele from out tutus learned the same way he plays. Love this video. Not to many people play the ukulele anymore.
Ответитьour brains pick up on things it can't explain with words
ОтветитьI've never seen a complete breakdown of someone's style that's also so incredibly respectful of the original artist
It's not, "this is totally how they did it and you can too"
it's "I am so passionate about this that I've done my best to learn how to replicate it, but no one could ever top that"
The Americans play a 'oookulele', we in Europe play the 'youkulele'. The letter U is pronounced 'you' not 'ooo'..
ОтветитьI don't play, I don't intend to play, but here I am for this whole video lol
Ответитьmagic at the tips of the finger
ОтветитьA fat man can sing... Wow how majical.. 13 mins wasted
ОтветитьLarge than life literally
ОтветитьIts one of the most famous songs of all time. I am from Bangladesh and when i was a kid, me along with friends all were mesmerized with the song.
Ответитьdid anybody else click on the vid just to hear how to pronounce his last name
ОтветитьBeautiful video of the man It's crazy but I could understand what you saying about how his style couldn't be replicated so easy, he added something you gotta be born with
Ответить
