I did the manual way then the automatic way doesn't work anymore. I supposed cuz the default one isn't flutter icon anymore thus it doesn't work

Nice. The manual method is working but automatic method is not working.
First I did the automatic method but it wasted my time because the commands did not run properly(flutter pub get, flutter pub run, flutter_launcher_icons:main).
Then I turned to the manual method and it worked properly.

For me the manual was good.

Thanks for the tutorial. When using terminal using <flutter pub add flutter_launcher_icons> the package registers under <dependencies> as shown in the install guide. But the read me section registers the package under <dev_dependencies>. I'm uneasy about registering packages under <dev_dependencies>. Why the contradiction? What's the difference?

In any case, the builds the images, and reports unhandled exceptions.

it might work fine on emulator but I think for android to test on real device, you also need to change ( android:icon="@mipmap/your_icon_name_without_extension" ) inside AndroidManifest.xml file
