Why I Bought a Tesla - Tesla Model Y Review

I love the technology and car. Elon on the other hand is embarrassing and the exact opposite behavior we should be cheering on with his constant childish and bad ethics (see: labor practices in California and lawsuits in California).

Seeing the world now, hearing him talk about Elon liking the whole twitter thing is pretty funny

I don’t even think they need to give everyone the whole lesson but why not offer a free extended delivery where a Tesla rep comes to the car with you and shows you around

Yep - 1 week into my tesla ownership.. really missing android auto. And in AUS, we cant use the browser while driving.. so aftermarket is out. Unless i get a phone holder and use a tiny phone screen.

Just bought a tesla, I used android auto all the time in my Mustang. I have no need for Android auto now. Its not a big deal. The maps work great and music works just fine. And I can confirm, updating to SYNC 3 on a ford is worthless. It DOES NOT WORK, and I have had 2 closed trouble tickets because even the website didnt work. I actually figured out the issue though. Non NAV users run out of memory. You have to edit the install file to omit 1 of the the update files, then omit the others on round 2. I made a video about it and it friggin works! Screw you ford.

Every time I think I want to consider a Tesla I see a video like this. Are there any great EVs out there?

Tesla is definitly a car that I like but I have the most amount of "how the hell does that break..?" moments driving it daily. I came from a Mercedes, before that a Audi and both are in some sense boring but very reliable. My model 3 is the most fun but also the car with the weirdest repairs. Especially I never had a glovebox break on me before on a brand new car.

Its pretty telling that the car is already screwing up in the first segment of review lol

What sucks, is that this is now 2 years old, and lane assist etc isn’t even a tiny bit better. And now in addition to the wonky wipers, you don’t have working parking sensors either!!
I’m disappointed, and sitting here hoping for updates, where are the actual fixes?

It’s stupid, but our cheap IONIQ works better than the Y. Lane Assistant is perfectly stable, auto engage/disengage, no beeping etc.

I was hoping for a much better Tesla Y in 2023, but the software seems to be more buggy than ever.

The Y is just one of the ugliest vehicles on the road, the proportions are all wrong, it's like a microwaved Renault Scenic

Did they change the wiper controls by now?
That plus the heated backseats being actually installed but not activated without payment are the two worst things for me right now, and remind me more of Apple, the car is already hella expensive to begin with

How often do the tires have to be replaced?

Buying an E-bike is also a leap foreward, and a cheaper one…
