I had some lower back issues and the lower weight was a selling point for me. Also, i liked that you could have a couple different looks depending on how you needed it! Minus long haul trips, the Switchback checked most of the boxes for me! I think Harley marketed it wrong. They sold it as a step up from Sportster or a bike for women. I thought it had that ole FL kind of look and those 5 spoke wheels had a hotrod feel to them! I still get compliments on the bike and mine is a 2012. I would have loved to see an oversized saddle bag developed. And now it's hard to find any of the accessories that Harley had out for them anymore. Don't see me parting with mine!

I bought my first bike, a '12 FLD last year with 9900 on the clock, ok, 9903. It came with a hidden wire T-bar set up, Bassani exhaust, brand new tires, a fresh oil change, and a Drag Specialties custom seat. I changed the seat for a custom Corbin, which I was able to ride in and ride out with at the Corbin factory, that was pretty awesome. Since then I've put another 4500 on her. Awesome bike, cruising the Monterey Coast. Recently saw another one listed for very reasonable, but I just dont have the funds for a spare one, regrettably.

I have a 13 and it is a good bike......except for the worthless pn or off front break. Single disk doesn't stop to well and has no "feel" at all . Mine is stage 2 and runs great but it just don't stop so well. Therefore it is above to be relocated to another owner and a 103 Road King will take it's place.

I bought a switchback just over a year ago and absolutely love it. I’ve been touring on the mainland (Australia), and it just loves the winding roads here in Tasmania. Definitely Harley’s version of the Edsel. But try and find one, the owners, including me will not part with them.

The price was certainly appealing, but the weight savings were deceiving. It didn't handle nearly as well as my Road King, and that's exactly what I was hoping for when I took it for a test ride!

I always liked the switchbacks, but really for me thr 2014 Dyna SuperGlide with bags and a fxrt fairing still looks better. Ideally id be rich and could afford to buy like an 87 FXRT with the original fairing, and clam shell hard bags.
But every time i see one, its at least $12k. 😢

i just bought a 2014 switch back a week ago, it was something i was looking at for awhile , originally i wanted to get a SG but finance wouldnt so my salesman remember i looked at this bike n got me in , i didnt test drive but for a sec i thought it was a SG cuz it has the hard saddles and the batwing fairing, i love how smooth it rides, only thing this one is barebone stock and its too quiet looking to make it louder, but over all i love my switch back

The sport glide softail shares the same fate...
It's sad because it's a good bike and is a big influence if not a precursor to the low rider ST "style" .
They will never be ST bags , they are sport glide bags rookies.

I've finally put some miles on my most recent bike, a 2012 switchback. Haven't done anything radical to it other than a thunder header slip-on and maintenance. Mostly ride mountain technical twisties and some hiways. I'm 5'7" and 72 years, this bike fits me like a glove the ride very comfortable, fast and nimble. Baggs are big enough for riain gear, tools and other daily essensials and still some space to bring stuff back home. I'm loving it and the sporty is jealous. Jajaja

I just rode my first Dyna yesterday. I do like the shake at idle, but even while doing 50 mph, at deceleration, it vibrated like hell. Is this part of the old school Harley experience? lol I hear no one talking about the vibrations going down the road at deceleration.

I currently own one and it's a love hate relationship. I bought it during covid and didn't know if I was going to become a hardcore rider. So, first thing I wish I knew about the unbalanced engine this has. It starts to vibrate at a bad frequency a 2200 rpms and right up my spine. Replaced the seat and it helps a little. Also, my feet vibrate ridiculously at normal cruising speeds. Rode a buddies Street-glide and it's silky smooth. I really don't use the "Switchback" Features much either. Just makes it easier to clean the hard to reach spots. And I just think I'm ready for touring without the buffeting from around the gas tank. I rode it 600 miles and the amount of gas stops where needed but at the same time annoying. If I just bought a touring bike I'd be comfortable longer and not need to stop so much. It has a 4.7 gal tank and gets 175 miles to every refill. I tend to fill it early cause the gauge looks lower the the tank really is. I love the 103 especially after I installed the Vance and Hines FuelPak tuner. Previous owner put the Vance and Hines Slash cut Dual exhaust and a K and N heavy breather air filter on it and it was burning kinda lean so the tuner woke this baby up so much! Love the power of the 103! The lack of dual front brakes is noticeable when two up but fine when your alone. And the small tire diameters make bumps feel more rough. And I don't want to spend the money on after market rims and tires for it. Just doesn't feel right to spend the money on a half assed touring bike that doesn't tour comfortably for me. IMO. Someone else might find it to be the perfect mix of features. Well, I'm done ranting about the switchback, I think. Love your videos. Keep them coming.

Well at 80 years old and after four broken backs causing my legs to be weak, the 2014 Dyna Switchback keeps me on the road. I think it is a great bike, lots of power, easier to get my legs over, and just happy that Harley chose to make it. As of 2024 it only has 16,000 kilometres but I can still get out to ride when my back allows me. Better than not riding at all! I wouldn’t be able to handle the bigger heavier cruisers!

I own a 2012...love the bike...and Im lucky to have the duel out both sides...original hard bags. Put motorwork in it to bump it up from a 103 to 107 and it's got great pop/hauling capacity.

My gal and I are 6ft'ers...loaded the bike doesn't struggle at all...did a 3000mile road trip last year and bike didn't have a single issue.

Saddened that HD discontinued the bike.
