Don't waste your money
ОтветитьI’ve been a record collector for close to 7 years now, and have only just upgraded from a god awful suitcase player to the LP60. I think even though it’s closer to an entry level turntable, it’s of exceptional quality and it blew my mind away when I put my new Beast in Black album on it with some JVC speakers.
ОтветитьThe fluence 85 and the debut carbon turntable beats both of these hands down and the used and new technichs sL 1200 blows the 120(its modelled on that )out of the water!
ОтветитьHello. Is there a good recommended turntable, in a level between these two? Thanks
ОтветитьI love your closing statement. It made me well up. I am high, but it made me happy.
ОтветитьBoth get points for not being crosleys. NICE!
ОтветитьI bought the LP60 and love it
ОтветитьGot a LP60X but plan on upgrading to the LP120X in the future. I plan on using my valve T91 Pilot radio as a powered speaker. Everyone I know who plays records both vinyl and shellac use the LP120X.
Ответитьwhats the debate, i wouldnt want either.
ОтветитьSomebody told me, right when i started, that if a record skips to put a penny or even a nickel on top of the tone arm. And I followed that advice and had no clue that it's actually bad to add extra weight to the record.
Thanks for the information
I want to buy the LP60X but not sure what speakers to get. Recommendations?
ОтветитьWent for the 120X for the better quality and upgradable cartridge and needle. Also, the amp I already had is silver; really liked the silver look 🤣.
The cartridge came installed and with needle installed from the factory. I saw in your setup guides that you may have to do this, but to me that seems to be done quite well.
It is still useful to have your setup video as a reference for whenever I need to exchange the needle or upgrade the element.
I have the AT-LP60BT, I'm considering the AT-LP120XBT-USB, my 60 was a gift so I don't recall the price, but feel like it was over $110. The 120 I'm looking at retails at $400. I rarely use the bluetooth feature bc it takes forever to pair. And I use two google home speakers for my audio. I'm curious if I should even upgrade my table? I don't need the third speed, but want to get a better audio if possible...
ОтветитьI got the ap lp-60x $200 it works just fine and no skips except the disc tats damaged but it’s over 50 years old
ОтветитьWhat's the percentage difference in performance.
ОтветитьDifference between these two are like like dusk to midnight.
Ответитьmuch theory bro
ОтветитьSo I am new to LPs, unless you count the read-along records when I was a kid. I'm still deciding between the ATLP60XBT-USB and the Sony with similar features. Now I don't own a turntable yet (just got LPs in the Linkin Park Meteora 20th Limited Edition). I'm not sure if this video is out of date but there is the AT-LP60XBT-USB which gives you bluetooth and USB options. Prices must have gone up though. The standard LP60X is still ~$150 but the LP120X is $350 everywhere. The LP60XBT-USB is about ~$280. There is the LP60XBT for $220. I think I'm going with the LP60XBT but the LP60XBT-USB would allow me to create MP3s for travel.
ОтветитьI've owned a lp60 for 2 years now. Bought it used for $20 3 years ago and immediately bought a new stylus for it. It's still going strong! Also, having a decent amp is key
ОтветитьYou ignored the fact that the LP-120X has Quartz lock, which guarantees stable platter rotation at exact speeds, adjustable pitch control and adjustable anti-skate, and a built in strobe and light. You should be adding 4 more points to the LP-120X score.
Ответить78s are really not hard to find.
ОтветитьIve been stressing on what kind of table i need to get. I started out with a $80 victolla 3 in 1. (Not a suitcase model but not sure if that matters.) But i want a good turntable. On a budget but not afraid to spend the little extra for better quality sound. Now my question is, is the 120x going to be noticeably different? Theres quite the price difference. The 60 being $150 and the 120 being $400. Seems like a significantly higher price with not exactly the most reassurance fo it being that way
ОтветитьI had a chance to use my nephew's LP120x to compare to my LP60, and I was surprised by what I valued in each of them. With the LP120X, speed adjustment was an absolute breeze, so I had great confidence that I was listening to records at the exact right RPM. But I was surprised how much I missed the automatic stopping of the LP60; I had grown accustomed to not having to get up when the side was finished. In short they're both great, but the LP60 appeals to my laziness in ways I hadn't expected.
ОтветитьAs a former die caster I know exactly what this. The plater may also have holes drilled on the underside at the edge. That is done to balance it properly.
Ответитьwhy do we even still have belt drives?
ОтветитьI bought the LP60 in 2016 , a very good turntable, in 2018 I bought a fully restored fully automatic Technics turntable from 1978
Ответитьi got myself an lp60 for 2 main reasons. the lp60 is much cheaper and so is the stylus. the other reason is because lp60 is automatic. i dont want having to keep move the arm each time i listen to my vinyl and having to check when the arm gets at the end of the vinyl to remove it from there. i been using my lp60 for 2 years and it works great.
ОтветитьIs there any website recommendation for the record?
ОтветитьI’m trying to decide between the LP5X or the 120. I’d love to see a comparison of these tables.
ОтветитьIs there any volume control for both record player?
Ответить😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьHave just bought the 60 XBT version, my first turntable, any suggestions for speaker around £100 anybody ? Thanks
ОтветитьI’ve never heard of an aluminum platter going bad.
ОтветитьLP3X is a nice in between and also fully automatic.
Ответитьyou're great! thank you for this amazing video. I am starting and you were very clear and helpful!
ОтветитьI have never got into record collecting however I do enjoy high quality sound so idk if i should get the lp60x or the 120
ОтветитьI have both. I use one for listening in my den (LP60) and the other (120) in my office so I can listen to 78 RPM records. Love them both.
ОтветитьEnjoyed the comparison. I'm having a difficult time understanding why the 60's color options were worth the same point value as the 120's heavier weight and superior cartridge.
ОтветитьSince I have no desire or patience for anything fancy and am just lazy, I'll just go with the 60USB.
ОтветитьThanks for the comparison! I'd like to add the 120 has Pitch adjust, and it's "quartz timed." Meaning if one is 'pitch-error' adverse, then consider the 120. My 2015 120 is still going strong, and I don't have noticeable 'rumble' from the direct drive motor.
ОтветитьYou could get the LP60 if you don’t care about the fancy schmancy extra features that the LP120 comes with. The 120 is a 3-speed DJ turntable with skate correction, the LP60 is a 2-speed turntable which is more basic.
ОтветитьI have the lp60x excellent turntable
ОтветитьWhat about the smell? Does the record player smell very chemical?
ОтветитьMy LP60X has been a great turntable. I’ve had it since December of 2019. The only issue I have with it is the tonearm slams down on my records so I have to manually lower it
ОтветитьBut they aren't Technics
Ответитьand audiophiles do not need a build in pre-amp
ОтветитьWhat about victrola
