Gene, the ARC:G version is now at 1.7.4. This is the STABLE version, no longer Beta. I think you should come up with another video walkthrough and bring up any new changes etc that could help members to attain better sound.

I recently got the avm70. When I ran arc genesis, the tones were insanely loud to the point where it was uncomfortable just being in the room while it ran the calibration. Is this normal? My previous processor was the marantz av7706 and this is my first time using an anthem.

i currently own the avm60 , never had it running in surround , always had it in a spare bedroom on 2 channel for music while in the shower lol..... yes i know....

anyways started to build my home theater now... 5 or 5 years later and have temp set it up in 5 channel and sounds fantastic... but read about and saw the independent adjustements for 4 subs on the avm90...... so i put a deposit on the avm90 today.... i bet its going to be a very nice piece! i have 3 bryston 7bs , 3 psb t3s for front , a 4b for rears on a pair of t2s , a paif of lcr2s in back surround and 4 630 in ceilings all running on 2 carver old school 3 channel 250x3 amps so im sure its going to sound great .i have M&K old school mx200 and an mx150 subs plus going to use my jl audio 12w7's in 2 custom sealed or ported boxes on a qsc 3000 watt amp . this is why i felt the avm90 will be superior. im just bought the jvc zn8 projector too . very excited to get all this going as its been a 15-20 year dream for me to have a full blown theater .

Gene how did you go swapping correction from 5k to full bandwidth?

Hello...I have an MRX 520 & have used the ARC Genesis with success when I had Windows 10...recently I bought a new PC with Windows 11 & today I wanted to recalibrate my system as it had been a while, and the ARC Genesis software won't run on it...I downloaded it from their site, and tried to re-install it and it cannot install...any suggestions?

Just had my Marantz SR7013 die and was looking at Yamaha A6A or Anthem 740. Which would you recommend?

I am auditioning and Anthem STR integrated and I don’t have a broadband plug nearby. Does the STR have a wireless capability? I will use my iPhone since Imdknt have an iBook. I assume that both the STR and iPhone must be in the same network. Thanks so much.

I don't seem to be able to specify more than one subwoofer!? ....Just got myself an MRX740 today! Upgraded unit to latest firmware (1.112.184) There doesn't appear to be a Beta since this? Installed latest ARC 1.6.10. Have logged a support request with Anthem.... refreshing my inbox every 10 seconds! 😂 ....If anyone else has any tips in meantime, I'd love to hear them 🙏

Last week I redid my ARC from my last time in September 22 and wow this new version completely changed everything its like I got new gear all around. Well worth redoing a room calibration

Got my avm 70 plus mca 325 (fronts) and rotel amps for a 5.2.6 setup and cant wait to hear all this plugged in and run arc genesis

I have pre-ordered an MRX 740 8k. I do not own a laptop - will my I Pad Pro be able to run the ARC genesis software?

As a dealer for many decades, have used Rotel, Bryston, Lexicon, all Anthem pre/pros since the AVM 20 and several others...the AVM 90 just blows them away! Using ARCG beta...GREAT! Never have I heard such sound. Have run ARC hundreds of times but this is far and away the BEST(1.610). Agree with Gene on his preliminary evaluation. Any word on the phono section, haven't gotten to it yet.

how would you compare it with perfect room from Lyngdorf?

With 1.105.156 firmware current, my new 1140 reports no updates available. This is well short of the 1.109.164 reported on in this session. I have both "Automatic Updates" and "Beta Updates" enabled. Anyone else having this difficulty?

After running Arc Genesis on MRX740 the levels of the speakers are set to +12, is this normal?

Great video, thank you. I wonder if have 3 subs time aligned and EQ’d on a minidsp whether it is better to let ARC handle the EQ? One can erase the filters on the minidsp and only use the delays as the 1140 only handles two subs. Conversely one could run ARC then alter the minimum frequency that it will correct to 80Hz and change the virtual subwoofer trim to 0dB and then have the minidsp house curve back. I also wonder if ARC is better at integrating the mains and subs then the REW time align feature. There are so many options to tune the system, it is difficult to know what to do.

Hey Gene, I just re-ran ARC with the updated Beta Genesis on my Anthem AVM70 and my bass response is greatly improved! Thanks for the notification of this new feature!

I just recalibrated my room on the beta with my 1140 and it’s incredible.

Now you will need to update again :)

Great informative video as always. One question: What is "tilt"?

"Extra 10db for the bass" but is that for any listening level? Wouldn't lower listening levels need more and higher listening levels need less? How do you decide on what exact curve you want for the extra bass? Also this isn't really specific to Arc... Might deserve its own video.

I'm still hoping for some explanation about the difference between the all pass filter and a simple distance/delay tweak for the subwoofer.
Also would be nice to see some measurements about the automatic phase adjustments results compared to manually adjusting those values using REW.

How does this compare to Trinnov's room correction mic... or is that really a fair comparison as that mic is specific to the Trinnov and extremely high end...?

I so wish my "old" MRX1120 had this. I find it so hard to get this right manually. But I guess a future upgrade to 1140 is happening 😅🤑

ARC Genesis looks much more user friendly than when I originally reviewed the MRX1120 (pre-ARC Genesis). Love the flexibility it offers.

I have a NAD t778, and I noticed that when I turn it up above -15bd that the top end becomes a bit harsh, I’ve used Dirac to roll off a the top end above 2-3khz. That seems to help a little bit. Am I out power or is it my focal chora speakers?

Gene, what are your opinions now between Anthem and Denon? Many across audioholics and ASR have tended to side with Denon if one is looking for a new receiver or pre pro, because the Denon's measure so well, ie 6700 vs AVM70.

Will be waiting for what Anthem says about the sub, mine seems to always default out to 250. Can you verify if Anthem is actually using the center on the phase test that would be great. Last can you give us a closeup picture of that MIC? I have had my MRX740 since launch and there isn't anything but a sticker on my mic that lets you know what direction it should face. Nice job BTW!

I am a anthem avm 70 user and i like the new ARC sofware. A question: I am installing an ATS (120in / 16:9 aeon cinegray 3D AT - 6 db) from elite screens witch will be covering LCR inwalls , what do you suggess that I do to recalibrate my setup 7.2.4. FOR THE SUB I CAN PRE ADJUST LEVELS TO 75db but for LCR speakers, the system will have to do the job. Witch sound pressure level measuring scale (A, B OR C) should I use for the subs?

I use a dual-opposed Martin Logan BF212 in a 2.1 config with room correction through ARC Genesis and PBK (Perfect Bass Kit). Will this update improve my current results?
