Climate change is not driving desertification! Desertification drives climate change!

Mankind is not entirely innocent in desertification, so yes, there is human caused climate change. But CO2 is insignificant for rising temperatures, hot desert ground without cooling water vaporation is!

Drop the silly CO2-certificate robbery and invest time in the Great Green Wall and other local projects in dry areas!

If we were serious about taxing CO2 emissions, African countries that overgraze their land, turning it into desert, would have to be taxed particularly heavily, because they cause climate change! They are not its victims!

But who would want that? Better to train them to green their land again!

they let anybody up here -- this man was an agent of colonial Rhodesia enforcing racial segregation in the seventys and acting like fossil fuel industries and Fortune 500 companies are the main contributors of climate change which is resulting in the increased aridity. Also, how about greening the urban areas like New York City where all the trees originally were that got mowed down for factories and parking lots

so why when an idigenous african kills an elephant are they labeled an evil poacher, but when this guy does it. oops
also what was the human cost of his actions were those 40,000 killed elephants "ivory etc" given to the indigenous people to help sustain them
doubtful. He ignored land managment 101 for political ideals

What about the devastating effects of geoengineered weather? And most people don’t even know it’s a thing, let alone the damage it causes. It can even be used to give the appearance of “global warming” and “global cooling”. And it’s been going on for over a hundred years. Isn’t it about time people started openly discussing weather modification? Is the UN ENMOD treaty still being respected? Was it ever adhered to?

40 million buffalo x 80 lbs of manure and urine is missing from the prairie environment. That's 3.2 billion lbs a day missing.
Plus the hoof disturbance
The grasslands had 20 ft roots you can see in old pictures of when roads were cut . Way more resilient to drought of course. Way more biodiversity.
The biomimicry to keep the new herds moving is planned rotational grazing. Tried and true method.
Running turkey or chicken 3 days later behind the cattle feeds them with fly maggots and keeps the flies off the buffalo.
This along with ecological agroforestry is a climate solution, a healthy food shortage and water scarcity solution.

A major issue with this idea is the incredible detail and specificity of any proposed "management plan". A lot of stuff must be done right, and even small actions taken incorrectly can completely negate the efficacy. Many of those wrong actions are forced on people by external pressures such as land ownership or climate change (drought)...

this video articulates to me why we need more social planning on a world scale and less on a local scale for things such as agriculture. the first agricultural revolution happened in my head because humans destroyed big game plenty. this has shown me how game animals can be used to restore some balance in nature. it is not everything but one step among many for humans to re-find theselves some how symbiotically as part of our earth. the agricultural revolution in my head was disgusting but it came about through humans needing to survive. now we can study, learn and have a developed literature and can compete and collaborate for best case solutions for overcoming (aufhaben) our silly human childhood as human beings. if we do, we will be custodians of our surroundings and not thrown out of the garden of eden once again

Wow! This talk is complete rubbish! The photo he shows of algae that is a "cancer" on the earth is actually called biological soil crust or "biocrust". In arid regions this biocrust grows in the spaces between the vascular plants. It is made up of cyanobacteria, lichen, algae, bacteria. When it rains that "cancer", as he calls it, swells like a sponge and comes to life where it performs vital functions adding nutrients to the soil and allowing water to permeate the ground. During the dry season it will form a crust over the land and prevent erosion from high winds and prevents invasive species from taking root. Biocrust is a thin and delicate; allowing livestock to graze over the land is actually harming this ecosystem. Grazing over this land is not the answer to slowing desertification!

This is fantastic. A shame though that's it seems it's been a while since all this is known and proven to work in practice, yet we keep receive a narrative push about how livestock and animal based diet is the problem, and that all going vegan plus eating insects or artificial meat from a lab are the solution.

man cannot reverse warming. he's not causing it in the first place. and deserts serve their own purpose in the ecosystem. man needs to learn to live in harmony w nature. not change it.

There is a lot in this video that is nonsense. The work he describes is good, but the concerns he cites aren't really critical. For example, the global population is in the process of peaking and will be declining before the end of the century. If you READ THE ENTIRE IPCC reports, including their bodies, climate change as claimed by climate alarmists really isn't that serious a concern and carbon is not our enemy. In fact, not only is carbon dioxide is the World's essential nutrient. Higher carbon dioxide is playing a role in making photosynthetic plants more drought resistant and thus more able to resist desertification.
