How have these done? Do they eat up your tires?
ОтветитьThey are made from aluminum. No worse than rocks etc. if you don't spin your tyres, it shouldn't chew them up.
Ответитьuse a small washer o the bottom.
ОтветитьDO they fucken eat your tyre what the fuck do you drive on when you 4x4 grass what a dumb ass question
Ответитьwow the first 3 rows shoulda just come like this.
ОтветитьI'm thinking about buying the MaxTrax an replacing the first 4 rows with the replacement studs. Do the MaxTrax stack the same with the replacement studs?
ОтветитьBe a good option just buying the tracks new. Buy,replace all stubs right out of the box then no worries. I would locktite them though.
ОтветитьLEVEL the fucking table mate........that rattling was doing my head in & didn't it tip you beer over ?!?
ОтветитьAngle grinder and a dozen short bolts with nylocks. ten minute job, all available from bunnings.
ОтветитьI'd drill the hole first (from under-side), then sand the top. Using a centre punch (or even a nail) to mark the centre helps to stop the drill from "wandering".
ОтветитьThis product should have come with metal studs already to match it's lifetime warranty
ОтветитьThats awesome... they should sell them with those metal studs in the first place. I just got my first set of Maxtrax, and that's my fear is I'll help someone and they'll tear them up.
ОтветитьFor $300 you think they would at the very least be metal to begin with.
ОтветитьThats not a knife!
ОтветитьWhy don't they come this way from the factory
ОтветитьAnother idea is to replace them with replacement cleats, which are made out of plastic
ОтветитьI would rather meld my Max Trax, than my tires!
Ответитьwhy woukd you bother with all he detail sanding and cutting ffs. buy some bolts from bunings not this shit
ОтветитьHope you made the foul who damaged them pay for it ... those repair lugs are expensive ...
ОтветитьThis is why you dont assist any fool you come across, obviously the person he assisted damaged his gear.
Same with snatch straps , you get 8 goes then they are stuffed so if they need assistance they need to throw up some coin
These are awesome and save the tracks
ОтветитьThey should of made metal studs from the start rather than plastic.
Ответитьdownfalls of injection molded plastics like that. especially without glass fiber reinforcement.
Ответить5/16-18 bolts are much cheaper and do the same thing. use a lockwasher or nylock nut and Bobs your uncle
ОтветитьHave to say the maxtrax people are just greedy. Probably cost $5 each to make. Then to charge what? $24 for 4 bolts someone said, so just further greed. Really, the maxtrax are a faulty design, as they know the studs wear off easily. Not fit for purpose. The maxtrax, at the exorbitant price they charge, should come with metal studs on the ramp areas already.
ОтветитьMax Trax on there way, now trying to decide on either a Runva or Warn winch for my Ford 2014 F150 FX4 5.0 Supercrew
ОтветитьRather than cutting away mangled plastic I imagine an iron and some parchment paper/aluminum foil (to protect iron) would melt them flat and then you would have extra plastic reinforcing your new hardware. (Hardware found much cheaper at a local hardware store.)
Ответитьa dremmel tool might do a beter job to sand down and level
Ответитьclean your nails
ОтветитьAre these studs only on ebay? Because I couldn't found them on Amazon
ОтветитьI think using a smaller drill bit then tap it so the screw will lock in better. Just saying but all in all good video..
ОтветитьIm gonna try aluminium football boot studs and see how they go. $10 for 12 studs, way cheaper than these things
Ответитьbought a maxtrax bracket off u a few weeks ago. bracket was perfect
ОтветитьWho else tried to blow away the plastic shavings after the hole got drilled?
ОтветитьUse M10 socket head bolts instead. Much cheaper and work great. I even put a few washers under the head to increase height of the stud for the tyre to grip to.
ОтветитьNice hack. Whats the hack for replacing your BFGs when you spin again and shred them on those metal bolts?
ОтветитьNut n bolt washer n spring washer and hand file all you need der
ОтветитьThat’s a crackin idea!!
ОтветитьYou stole my name
ОтветитьYou just voided your warranty
ОтветитьDo they still stack after you do this?
ОтветитьTek screw?
