Thank you Balnur! I really want to express my gratitude for you for deliberately going into details. But this girl’s opinion was too soft communist opinion from my point of view. The next time please ask some far-right conservative Kazakh’s opinion or centrist like me. Thank you very much.
ОтветитьIt’s not just Americans that don’t know about Kazakhstan. Westerners (people from Western Europe and the English speaking world such as America and Canada) don’t really know much about Central Asia. The western world tends to be ignorant about Central Asia, eastern and Central Europe
ОтветитьI have not found Borat funny because I actually knew some things about the world; few words in Polish were completly false move, insulting to both places. Maybe ignorance is required to enjoy such things, but I cannot wish it to anybody. Fortunatly Sasha Baron Cohen has better roles also...
ОтветитьI mean people make jokes about it, but it has completely ruined Kazakhstans Name. It didnt even parody the country and didnt have anything to do with it, it simply used its name as one that many dont know anything about
ОтветитьMost Kazakh people look East Asian. I’m aware there are ethnic Koreans/Kazakh Koreans, whites people (Slavs, Baltic’s, Germans, and other white Europeans), mixed race looking people (White/East Asian mix), middle eastern looking people (Azeri, Armenian, Turkish).
ОтветитьThanks for sharing this very smooth interview, nice presentation. 👍🏻
ОтветитьThe parts of the Borat film that were supposed to be set in Kazakhstan were actually filmed in Romania. I think he picked Kazakhstan because in terms of westerners it is an out of the way place that nobody knows anything about. It would have been true for me too. I can find it on a map. But what are the people there like. Are they like westerners? are they like Russians? Are they like Chinese? Are they like Arabs? How woul I know?
ОтветитьI'm American, have watched borat several times and I never ever thought that it was ever supposed to be the way Kazakhstan really was. Almost no Americans know anything about Kazakhstan, me included.
ОтветитьBorat portrays Kazak women as prostitues, is he right?
ОтветитьYeah, I have to say that although the movie is funny, I did feel uncomfortable that it uses the name of a real country.
It's worth bearing in mind though that Baron Cohen also produces satire ridiculing western countries such as the US and UK.
On the whole I do agree with your analysis, it goes too far in parts in linking itself to this one country.
I am an American and our public educational system is failing our children, and therefore we have undereducated adults.
ОтветитьThat's what the movie was trying to do, show people's ignorance.
ОтветитьBorat is one of my favorite movies, I'm glad to hear that some Kazak people understand the humor and the reason for the movie. I think the movie shows more of how clueless Americans are to the rest of the world. I myself, am Amercian. Yes, we are one of the most diverse countries on the planet but so many Americans are just focused on what is happening here and they might hear about wars in other countries. Especially the scene where Borat sings the national anthem he is trying to get a reaction out of people like that, the people that think the USA is greatest country and nothing else compares.
ОтветитьIt is unfortunate that an infamous movie put your country in a negative view , but then again the more intelligent will do research on your home and learn to appreciate Kazakhstan’s people, history, and it’s land.
ОтветитьI love the video keep up the work
ОтветитьThank you for letting me share my opinions and thoughts!
