As a former Ebay seller, I don't agree with your advice about the description. Make the description Thorough AND CLEAR, and say everything right v. wrong about the item! (mostly used items)
I don't sell on Ebay any more, but I still look around and always, always read the description. I have found tons of discrepancies between the list of 'specs' right after the photos, and the description. If I wanted to buy the item, I would then contact the seller to clear things up. 99% of sellers were happy to be notified that something didn't match up.

Do ebay charge insertion fee now if you dont have a store? I am a new seller and I tried to list my item worth $180 and the y told me I have to pay $6.90. Pls help me.

Bit of a late comment, but when I look at my listings, it claims that I do not accept returns. I create a business policy for a return, yet the listing does not change. Is there a way to add the "I accept returns" assurance for buyers to an existing(active) listing?

Thank you for this video. If you watch the Ebay YT videos, they'll say you need to box up your product so you can supply the dimensions. I'm thinking that I would have a bunch of filled boxes of my inventory laying around taking up room. And.....I was worried that if my educated guess was slightly off and I didn't get the dimensions correct, that the Ebay police would be knocking at the door asking to confiscate my tape measure. I'd love to hear anyone's feedback.

Oh, and Scot. If you want to save a small bit of time that will add up as you list, learn to use Control C to copy and Control V to paste. You'll be surprised at how quick it is.

Why is it that most sellers don't make a counter-offer or decline your offer if they don't want to accept your offer? They just let the time run out on your offer. i have noticed this for years.

I noticed that you did not mention in your sample items the use of video shots. I am clearing a doll collection that belonged to my wife and found that other than ongoing problems transferring the video files it was much easier to use a video showing a 360 degree view than a serieaof individual shots. In followup with Ebay I discovered that very few people are using video so far. What are your thoughts? Pro or Con.

I have a store on eBay, I did good work there, 41 orders shipped, and it was a big amount, but I couldn’t withdraw, because I did late to shipped orders, my store was Freez, then I paid for unfreeze, and funds also received in my store wallet, then withdraw again, but they canceled my withdraw, and asked for deposit 30%, then I paid 30% of my wallet amount, then withdraw again,again they canceled, they said amount is big you have to pay taxes 30%,and 25% will return to your store wallet, I received 25% in my store wallet, then I asked can I withdraw now, they yes can, I withdraw $20k, but they blocked my amount and demanding for $10k for vip channel! They said open vip channel and then you can withdraw! But I am not in this situation to pay $10k!

This is such a GREAT help! Shipping calculations are always a question for me. My biggest issue is that I have lots of varying size boxes that have been given to me, so I'm never sure exactly which one is best to use for different items. Scot, I've finally sold and shipped my first item. (You may remember, I had just started my listings when the new Ground Advantage went into effect, which totally confused me.) But now I'm more confused than ever! Why, since I've already chosen my shipping policy, does ebay ask for my shipping policy on every single item?? And why, if I'm choosing flat rate, does it still ask for weight??

Why does my eBay look different than what you are showing? Is there a newer version?

Question about shipping. I am selling an item in its original boxed packaging (9x6x3) with a weight of 1.46 lbs, putting it in a sealed plastic bag and them in a durable sealed mailer. Should I just put the dimensions of the box even though it's in the plastic mailer? What's the most accurate way to enter the shipping info so I can pass along the precise shipping cost to the buyer? Question 1 of 2: It seems that you prefer to have one shipping price (regardless of distance in Continental USA) as opposed to the (price) range provided by USPS/eBay. Have you found that using the shipping price range in the listing to be detrimental to sales?

Why not start the tutorial with step 1: how to actually set up an account, what is required, etc. This is just tutorial on how to list an item, not helpful if you havent yet set up an account.

Btw Ebay can now connect directly to the phone app when using desktop at time for picture, no need for drafts, its seemless and excellent.
