Hold up... you only wear a paracord belt, until you need to use it that being said, hanked and in your bag is a better option. Plus then you may wear a leather belt, which is great for stropping your blades and keeping any cutting devices sharp and ready when you most need it, which is often after you have used it in the field halfway through a project. A quick honing and you may finish the project with your are, pocket knife, machete, or Excalibur battle sword. Hopefully not the latter. FYI, I'm not against paracord... but the belt it not the best dual purpose use. A better place is any and every handle on your gear such as the backpack carrying handle, as it offers a better handle for your grip. Even the softer cheaper paracord is great for this as it is softer and makes a nice handle. Yet ready to deploy in a second or two. A short handle is about 20 feet to a long handle could be 40 or more depending on thickness. If your bag has several handles, you may decide if you want a little, or a lot be choosing the handle. If you only need 10 feet, there is no sense in deploying 200ft of a belt then still having to hank up the rest while holding your pants up.

Since we are talking about dual purpose items. The paracord handle, actually another purpose I use this handle for. COLOR CODING the bags. Emergency medical supplies have a red handle. My wife can choose her color for her gear and I choose mine. But I also own a DJ service and would send out multiple systems. All I have to do is give them a color coded explanation. You have the blue computer (preloaded with the Playlist thier party requested) and the camo lighting system (designed for a larger room and preloaded with gobo or bat signal).

This handle may also be usefull for unknown needs if an emergency strikes... example... unexpected storm, and covering quickly with a tarp. Saved thousands and thousands of dollars.

The compass, my thoughts on that, learn N E S W. Dont look up, look down at the shadow, in the morning the shadow is west.

With the compass, consider getting a laser range finder. They use a laser to measure distance, angle of ascent or descent. They have a monocular lens that you can see up to 2000 yards. They cost less than $100 up to $500 depending upon the range capability. Mine will measure up to 1600 yds (according to the specs). May help to find game.

Great review. One item I have are #10 x 3 in. Phillips Flat Head Stainless Steel Sheet Metal Screw from Home Depot, these have a Phillips Head on them which most multi tools have. If I am using them at a remote location then I would use the #10 x 3 in. 305 Stainless Steel Star Drive Deck Screw which are more cost effective if you are getting more than a few.

A Military compass is a good idea. However, remember when doing land navigation with your map, you have to account for the GM angle when using both & the GM angle varies depending on what part of the world you live in.

Everybody needs a belt so you might as well make it a paracord bet. And as soon as you need and use the paracord - you no longer have a belt that "everybody needs".

Ok. If you have a paracord belt to use as back up cord, what do you do with the gadgets that were carried atached to the belt once you used that belt cord? And what do you use to hold up your pants?

Tourniquet made form paracord is gonna be sketchy at best and severally damaging at worst, without something to spread out the pressure the paracord will cut into flesh and will cause undue tissue damage, not to mention as it causes damage that will cause the actual pressure stopping the bleeding to reduce over time (same as other brands of “tourniquets” made from flexible or stretchy materials)

FYI storing old cell phones is a terrible idea. They were designed to look for a signal that the receiver probably no longer exist. With the way spectrum is sold your phone will call 911 and that’s about it and even that might not work. It’s called provisioning and is updated often.

Just adding this comment because I haven't seen it so far, but none of the old Nokia phones will be able to register on modern cellular networks. Their old protocols are no longer supported, even if their frequencies are.

I personally don’t like the idea of a metal handle axe because I’ve used a full metal splitting maul. They vibrate like crazy even with probably 4 rolls of duct tape on the handle, so they are hard to use for a long time.

I'd rather have a walkie talkie than a Nokia phone just for the simple fact that should things go south cellphone service is going to be nill not long afterwards especially if there's an EMP situation . Also although cast iron is tough it still requires proper care and re-oiling from time to time especially if soap is used to clean them . Kinda surprised that a magnifying glass wasn't on this list or a mirror .

The part about watches, one thing you got wrong is it's the mechanical watches that require winding. Some automatics you can wind but don't have to, the watch winds itself from the movement of your arm while wearing it.

In high school I was thought that the founders loved freedom and fought for freedom. After the indoctrination the government wanted after much critical thought I came to the conclusion the founders didn't fight for freedom they fought while they could fight and realized they had nothing to loose in time. Why the elite wants the people to be disarmed and they will pay the turds in congress to make it happy. Why the founders came up with the bill of rights and was written in such a way there is no misunderstanding.
