What if you have a gate valve at the Tee instead of a valve on the S and a separate valve on the D?

if it is coming up from hill, how long do we have to wait to see if it works. -- I have been trying to prime this for entire week and is not working.

Mine is a pump for a water feature and it doesn’t have any valves to close to prime it. So I fill it but water just keeps going in and not filling. Any ideas on how to prime it?

This guy saved my pool. Every time I called the pool company regarding my pump not priming, they fixed it and charged me $150 without telling me how. It is so simple that even my 11 year old can do that.

How do I prime on or the other if both my drain and skimmer are on the same T valve with 3 port diverter valve?

Unfortunately, the only valve I have controls the mix of skimmer vs drain. There is no way to shut both lines off. How would I prime in that situation?

Thanks for telling me to shut off pump, then close skimmer valve and drain valve, then open to clean basket help save suction. Works great to help save prime, never knew this.Your the BEST!!!

Can you show how to prime the pump when you have just the one multiport valve for the skimmer and drain. Not sure how you close both then open one at a time. Thank you

The logic makes sense but i am confused as why having the pump connected (pulls water) to both skimmer and drain line. Couldn’t the drain be done with a divert valve after the pump. My pump pulls water in from the skimmer and/or the spa, controlled by an Ortega divert valve. I don’t have any valve to control the flow to the pump to speed up priming. Maybe it’s just my pool’s older construction? Thx

New to pools, pump wasn't priming, put new seal kit in, still not priming. This video provided the knowledge needed to understand how to properly prime the system. Very well done systematic description. Bravo!!!

I cannot get my pump to prime. I only have one intake line, from my floor drains. It's about 10'along the bottom of the pool, 6'vertical, then 12' to my pump. How long can I let the pump run with no water coming in? Been using your approach for the last hour, getting frustrated

Thank you. I am using a .75 HP pump for an in ground DIY splasher pool. I though I would have to locate the pump inlet below the waterline by placing it in a hole in the ground, but after watching this, it seems that all I really need is a valve and a garden hose for priming.

I've never had an issue opening my pool until this year. My system is roughly 20 ft away and about 3.5 ft below the pools water line (1/2 way on skimmer). Usually as soon as I unplug my skimmers and open the valves, water flows into the pump basket effortlessly. This year it did not. I'm going to try this priming process and hope for the best.

I live in Massachusetts, I just got an estimate for a new liner installed 20x40 rectangular in ground pool,.. ready for this one ?……. $9,800.00 ( called seven places and that’s the only person who called back and there’s a four week to six week wait to install )… is that outrageous or what ?

Great video , thank you !…. I have a Hayward e65 filter and I was wondering if I should open the little air relief knob on top or the filter to let air out as I’m priming the pump,.. I was told to do this for a few seconds until I get a steady stream of water and then screw it down tight to close it ?

One of the BEST videos I’ve seen to date!! You saved me an EASY THOUSAND bucks from a “numb-nut know it all” who KNEW how to prime the pump on my new pool. This EXACT pump. He did NOT know. In fact he did everything wrong and I saw the water boiling and kicked his arse out and then found your video. He has a pool too. And it worked. Lord only knows how but he won’t be touching my pool again! Thanks again!!!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

So I have a valve inbetween my pump and my filter, should I always leave that valve open during this process?
