Back in the late 1950's into the mid 1970's there was a small family run " restaurant " in East Boston near the cargo entrance to the airport. They only had a flat top grill so it was mostly burgers, dogs and pepper and egg sandwiches'. But they had a local favorite which was 2 BIG THICK slices of bologna cooked on the grill with caramelized onions and green peppers on a freshly baked Bulkie Roll. It cost 75 cents and you could get a cold beer to wash it down. .All the truck drivers used to stop and grab one to go.

East Boston hasn't been Italian for at least two decades, same now for the North End because of gentrification. Restaurants are still there, of course, they own the properties, cheap "rent."
