This the stupidest shit I've ever heard
ОтветитьIve allways cycled and walked with resistance training in the mix, as i was totally put off running by working with 2 older runners years ag who were 50 plus but had Chronic problems due to the impact of running, these were lifelong runner, the one was knees and hips, the other was knees and lower back discs - he was a plumber and virtually crippled. His Orthopaedic consultant told him the damage was 100 percent down to running & the pounding to the joints. I think if you are very slightly built you may get away with it? Who knows?
ОтветитьDetermined that power walking is better than running by comparing power walking to walking... gosh, who would have thought that power walking came out good from that one?
ОтветитьSome days I walk other days I run I enjoy both running is harder on your joint s
Ответить5.5mph is my running speed
ОтветитьI’m 43, my father has two replacement knees from jogging and basketball officiating throughout his 40s, so I mostly powerwalk with 2 short running dashes when my hamstrings start to tighten.. my daily workout has given me lots more calf muscle and shin muscle, far better posture, obviously increased my metabolism and overall decreased my appetite, and I also workout with light weight resistance which keeps both my hands and grip relatively strong. I don’t care if it “looks weird” to onlookers used to joggers - I break a sweat every time I exercise. That’s a rule. I don’t time myself either. That’s another rule. I workout moderately and I stay in shape. It also tightens my abs without doing any ab exercises whatsoever. Zero crunches, zero sit-ups. This is also somewhat informed by the Ido Portal concept of “movement” exercise, which I also employ throughout the day as much as possible, as I do quite a bit of reading and media analysis, and resisting being sedentary for too long is absolutely necessary. I probably do a 4.6 to 4.8mph pace but it’s been years since I did treadmill at a gym so I could be wrong. Also the other bonus: it’s fun. I listen to my favorite music every day and enjoy nature every day doing it. I see the sun rise. I keep my phone literally in my right hand the whole time so if I happen to pass an amazing view I can snap a picture instantly…. Something you can’t really do jogging without letting up your stride. Powerwalking + burst jogging all the way. My heart might not be perfect but my knees thank me every day!!!
ОтветитьProblem here is that many of the people your showing here o this feature, are not Power Walking, they are Strolling at a Leisurely Pace, and that’s not the same thing, so you’re misleading people here!!
The information is good, but it doesn’t tally with the Images you show????
I was wondering why i had kind of ripped legs in the past. I used to do a lot of powerwalking accidentally, as i was trying to get everywhere fast for around 1-2 hours a day.
ОтветитьI will always run, i was advised by osteoporosis nurse to do so to keep bone density on my hips i also walk a lot
ОтветитьThis is BS. Running isn't damaging your knees inheriting. Light jogging beats it every time. Power walking, that is, walking as fast as possible w/out going into a run is really good for your ankles in flat shoes. But as strengthening training.
Unless you are really obese - odds are against you - you should be doing all three variations. Fast walking, light jog and interval fast running. The later, once a month is enough.
The problem with walking is that it's impossible to get the plus high enough for what is called blue zone - or low green(aerobic).
Me being 65 am getting knee pain when jogging but if I power walk do I need to go miles to get any benefit ?
ОтветитьRunning fuckedup my knees very badly
Ответить👍👍
ОтветитьI do a light jog of about 4mph. Just at the break of walking but not jogging when I then go about 5mph. I guess it depends on the persons stride on speed. I started doing on the treadmill the 12-3-30 workout for 30 days. (12 incline, 3mph, 30 minutes ). It's about 1.5 miles total. Works your glutes.
ОтветитьThe farmers drop on the overrated term.
ОтветитьI do both but I'll rather run than walk
ОтветитьBeside injuries risk every benifits mentioned here comes with running also. And you have repeated risk injuries way more times it doesnt make the argument better.
ОтветитьIt's more about what your more likely to stick with...running can be brutal...but power walking is easy and fun ..therefore more likely to be continued by most
ОтветитьPower walking this my life and point
ОтветитьTalking about brain healthy foods and supplements,to improve brain power too😉👍
ОтветитьMe power
But walking I'm so lazy
Agreed. Running sometimes is ok, but some parts of your body, once torn, will never heal due to high impact activity.
ОтветитьWhat is mph in km
Ответитьme who power walks everytime :)
ОтветитьThat thumbnail 🤣🤣🤣🤣
ОтветитьWell, no more running for me. 😂
ОтветитьThank you Body Hub
ОтветитьMOREEE POWWERR!
ОтветитьWow, I really like this video. Power Walking is good for me, especially running in the park in my daily routines. I just love power walking.
